Principal Growth Strategy Manager
Zillow
About the team
The Marketing Strategy team blends strategic problem-solving with analytical rigor to fuel growth across Zillow's portfolio. Operating as an internal strategy function, we partner closely with senior leaders in Marketing to deliver tangible business impact. We drive marketing-led growth for our B2C and B2B portfolio, while providing broader strategic leadership for Zillow Elevate, our publisher business.About the role
Zillow Group is seeking a Principal Manager, Growth Strategy to help drive the performance of Zillow Elevate, our advertising revenue and publisher business. This is a high-impact individual contributor role that sits at the intersection of business strategy, analytics, and go-to-market execution.
You will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, moving fluently between strategic architecture and hands-on analyses to evaluate business models and drive execution. The ideal candidate brings a "strategy consulting" toolkit—structured problem solving, executive communication, and commercial acumen—combined with the willingness to roll up their sleeves and dig into the data.
Key Responsibilities
Enable growth strategy: Provide always-on strategic support to deliver and refine the growth strategy for Zillow Elevate. You will partner with business leaders to detail the strategic roadmap and ensure we are effectively executing against our near- and long-term vision.
Lead strategic projects: Lead discrete, high-impact initiatives that blend strategy and analytics. Projects can include deep-dives on pricing, sales / go-to-market strategy, and product opportunities as well as external market analyses.
Deliver data-driven insights: Conduct hands-on qualitative and quantitative analyses to inform and validate opportunities, including growth modeling. You will be expected to use data to pressure-test hypotheses and support your recommendations.
Lead cross-functional stakeholders: Act as a strategic bridge that brings together key business leaders—including Sales, Product, Tech, and Marketing—to ensure holistic problem-solving and alignment on key priorities.
Address growth risks: Proactively monitor business performance to identify growth headwinds or market shifts; develop data-backed mitigation strategies to keep the business on trajectory.
Craft clear communication: Synthesize recommendations and analyses into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for senior leadership to drive decision-making.
Who you are
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, with 4+ years in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or a dedicated growth strategy role within a tech environment. Familiarity with paid media advertising (buy or sell-side) an added bonus.
Education: MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Business Analytics) is preferred
Strategic: Proven ability to deconstruct complex business problems, understand P&L levers, and develop structured, logical frameworks for growth.
Analytical: Comfortable with data analysis, modeling, and visualization. We strongly prefer candidates with working fluency in SQL; proficiency in Python or visualization tools (Tableau) is a nice-to-have.
Driven: Demonstrated ability to operate independently in an unstructured environment, managing multiple stakeholders and priorities without the need for constant oversight.
Storyteller: You are an expert at delivering clear concise communications and building executive-ready presentations.
