This team collaborates with Zillow’s leaders to lead strategic initiatives, stand up and lead critical programs, to build out and manage operational activities associated with running the day-to-day business. Our remit spans a broad range of topics across the business, including evaluating cost savings opportunities, developing a strategy for a discrete problem, and program managing important cross-functional initiatives to ensure that we deliver!About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategy & Business Operations Lead to join our team! In this role, which blends strategy and execution. You will lead strategic initiatives and work with cross-functional leaders to define and influence business priorities, evaluate new opportunities, and develop actionable solutions. You will also drive execution of key programs and lead high-priority operational activities. The role will directly support leadership across Shared Services functions (Finance, People, and Legal) and work closely with partners across Zillow’s business lines. All the work will be aimed at achieving or moving faster on our goals - driving revenue or cost improvements, getting more efficient, building scale, or improving controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior leaders to scope, launch, and/or execute high-priority initiatives
- Provide strategic and operational support to Shared Services functions. Including helping leaders identify new opportunities, develop and refine their existing strategies, unblock or accelerate current priorities, or program manage initiatives
- Conduct analysis, craft solutions, and deliver insights around business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner
- Build out new and lead cross-functional working groups, engaging partners from across the business and leading through influence
- Create clear, impactful presentations for a senior leadership audience for the purpose of driving clarity and decision-making
- Lead cross-functional programs by bringing clarity to complex problems, defining roles and responsibilities in a matrixed environment, and monitoring and reporting on key milestones
- Define goals and success measures to track progress against objectives, and “quarterback” cross-functional teams to diagnose and address problems when they occur
- Continually enhance the team’s capabilities by identifying and executing on process improvement opportunities
Who you are
- Minimum 8+ years of experience with a focus on Strategy and/or Business Operations and experience leading strategic, cross-functional initiatives and change management programs. Open to management consulting or investment banking experience
- Able to toggle between strategy and execution – i.e., think big picture about strategy and roll up your sleeves to partner with business leaders to launch a new process
- Highly adaptable and able to thrive in ambiguous or changing environments with a desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment. Experience driving outcomes where the answers are not always well defined and creating structure
- Excel at building strong relationships and leading through influence, to influence peers and executive leadership on complex business topics
- Strong project management skills with the ability to set a plan and manage multiple priorities and cross-functional teams
- Proactive and resourceful
- Drive high value outcomes, independently prioritizing your efforts based on strategic value add / ROI
- Bachelor's degree (MBA a plus but not required)
