About the role

We are seeking a proactive, goal-oriented Principal Technical Program Manager who will take ownership of strategic technical initiatives and inspire change within the Core Technology organization. In this highly visible and cross-functional role, you will lead complex technology projects, working closely with team members across the Engineering and Product organizations. Your mission will be to successfully implement programs that are strategically significant and highly impactful.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will:

  • Collaborate across teams and organizations, acting as a liaison for engineering with partners in Product Management, Design, UX Research, HR, and Marketing.

  • Work with senior Engineering leaders to define, measure, and inspect product delivery metrics.

  • Partner with data analysts to own, scale, and improve the engineering rhythm of the business dashboard, including insights from engineering, finance, procurement, and HR.

  • Lead scope, prioritization, and execution of strategic engineering programs across the Engineering organization.

  • Drive engagement, collaboration, and alignment as a leader within the TPM community at Zillow.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $173,300.00 - $276,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 8+ years of Technical Program Management experience with related technologies, including leading significant cross functional projects in mid-size or large companies

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience building software solutions within current industry standard technologies

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize tasks

  • Ability to influence partners and build alignment around vision

  • Ability to prioritize multiple opposing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Solid technical skills, able to translate product requirements into technical specifications.

  • Proven track record delivering large-scale initiatives, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering products that delight our customers.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, able to drive consensus and process improvements.

  • Experience collaborating closely with Product Managers and Software Development Managers to achieve business objectives.

  • Ability to dive into technical details, make suitable trade-offs, and ensure project success.
