About the team

The Rich Media teams have been established for over 6 years, initially specializing in 3D virtual home tours and expanding to include interactive floor plans and Showcase. Constantly exploring new features like home insights and personalized shopping experiences, our teams leverage cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize the virtual home viewing experience. Collaborating across product, research, engineering, and business domains, we aim to redefine the future of home shopping through immersive virtual walkthroughs.

The Rich Media Photography (RMP) team was officially named a year ago, with the RMP Media Pipeline Team focusing on creating and maintaining robust media pipelines for high-quality photos and virtual tours. As the core data pipeline of the Rich Media teams, this team plays a vital role in enabling immersive media on Zillow.

About the role

Zillow embraces daunting challenges like this one, and that's why we are looking for a meticulous Senior Software Quality Engineer — a customer advocate passionate about the experience and efficiency of the product for our consumers and the business. Successful SQEs enjoy uncovering new challenges and expanding capabilities to support their colleagues further and drive their collective team to improve.

We believe in autonomy and thinking big. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you! What you'll do:

  • Drive a test-early approach, working with developers to identify risks before starting development and identify tests to help mitigate. Provide early and iterative feedback on project status, so that you and your team(s) can make timely, informed decisions

  • Actively participate in team rituals(agile), provide early feedback during feature and technical design reviews, and work to help deliver high-quality products, adapt relevant testing methodologies, types, and processes to validate that key customer and business goals are met.

  • Collaborate with software developers on creating comprehensive test plans. These plans outline the testing approach, strategy, and specific test cases to be executed.

  • Collaborate with software developers to make data-driven decisions to improve performance and quality. Drive improvements across your teams via root cause analyses, on-call hand-off meetings, and the utilization of operational excellence metrics such as those found in "DORA".

  • Individuals would get to work closely with all RMP team members(including Backend, Frontend, Machine Learning, iOS, and Android developers) as well as across all of Rich Media.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Skilled in reviewing and writing test plans.

  • Excellent at clear communication in technical and product settings.

  • A champion of quality and stability in services.

  • Collaborative across the organization to communicate statuses, strategy, and decisions.
