About the team

The Mobile Apps Evaluate team builds features in the most popular real-estate app in the US with a focus on the home details and related actions (sharing homes, hiding homes). The team existed in various iterations for about 10 years and recently separated into a standalone team to focus on the home details experience on Android. We work at a fast pace shipping bug fixes and features on a weekly cadence.

We’re super excited about building a modern Android experience for the company’s most visited home details functionality. We’re completely re-platforming to modern approaches after reaching the limits of webviews in our former approach.

About the role

This team develops both a HDP framework and the flagship For Sale HDP. With framework responsibilities, Sr SDEs in this role need to have demonstrated experience advising and building deep partnership with peers on close-in teams (such as rentals, off-market, and similar features built outside the team).

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Candidates need proven mentorship capabilities for the team’s non-senior engineers as well as peers using the team’s framework.

  • All the team’s new feature work uses modern kotlin and jetpack compose; candidates need to be familiar with those technologies or very willing to learn.

  • BS/MS in Computer Science and 4+ yrs of experience

  • 4+ years of Android experience

  • Strong CS fundamentals

  • Ability to mentor and coach Jr developers

  • Ability to drive cross-team design and framework decisions
