Position Summary

To help continue to fuel our growth, we are looking for an energetic, passionate and detail-oriented Intermediate Quality Assurance Engineer to take charge of all things QA related. You will have extensive experience in writing test cases and creating automated scripts, as you fully understand the importance of scaling so that the software development team can move at an even faster pace. You pay extra attention when it comes to manual testing to ensure that software releases get deployed on time and with quality.

We are a 24/7 operation that requires on-call coverage to service any technical incidents that may arise. This role will report to the Manager, Quality Assurance. This is a full-time position in our Vancouver office, walking distance from shops, restaurants and public transit.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work closely with Software Engineers and Product Managers to capture requirements for test automation framework, define process, setup and maintain automation framework and library of automated tests for web-based SaaS app
  • Plan, execute, monitor automated tests to analyze and publish results and interpretation, within scheduled deadlines
  • Setup test data as required to reproduce issues and execute positive, negative and edge case automation testing
  • Follow the process for defect management, release testing and overall product quality assurance
  • Create and maintain automated test process documentation, scripts and tools
  • Collect and provide test metrics and reports
  • Execute manual smoke and final acceptance testing as needed for software releases
  • As needed, assist support with reproducing, diagnosing and resolving customer issues
  • Together with our Software Engineers and DevOps staff, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents

You have:

  • BSc degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience performing quality assurance for a web based software product.
  • 2+ years' experience in the design, development and maintenance of an automation framework and library of automated tests for web-based SaaS application
  • 2+ years' experience with cross-browser testing, functional, stress/performance, security testing of multi-tiered web applications
  • Good experience in using industry standard tools to develop and maintain automated user acceptance test suites and tying them into the Continuous Integration process
  • Good experience writing and executing automation test scripts using software testing frameworks such as Selenium, SOAPUI, and Cypress
  • Good experience with the following technologies: C#, .Net, Javascript, JSON, SQL, HTML
  • Good experience with source control systems such as Git, SVN, Mercurial
  • Experience working in agile development team
  • Self-starter looking to learn and contribute significantly to the team
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Proficient in the English language with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are a must.

Please view the base salary range for this role below. The range listed is our expected compensation for the role. However, the pay offered may vary depending on a variety of factors including qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
