At Strava, we know our employees are the most important ingredient to our success, and our compensation and total rewards programs reflect that. We take a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on the department and your location. Salary ranges are categorized into one of three zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. We will determine the candidate’s starting pay based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. We may modify these ranges in the future.

About Strava
Strava is the app for active people. With over 180 million athletes in more than 185 countries, it’s more than tracking workouts—it’s where people make progress together, from new habits to new personal bests. No matter your sport or how you track it, Strava’s got you covered. Find your crew, crush your goals, and make every effort count. Start your journey with Strava today.
Our mission is simple: to motivate people to live their best active lives. We believe in the power of movement to connect and drive people forward.
We’re looking for a Sr. Manager, People Strategy & Special Projects to serve as a critical partner and right hand to our Chief People Officer (CPO) and lead a portfolio of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives. This is a unique opportunity for someone who blends structured problem solving, analytical rigor, and strong project leadership with real empathy and sound people judgment. The ideal profile is someone who has thrived in a high-expectation environment (e.g., management consulting, high-growth startup, strategy/ops) and is excited to apply those skills inside a fast-moving, growing, global company.
Help shape how Strava’s team and culture grows as we approach our next inflection point. You’ll collaborate on people strategy, while also owning the work to move it forward—turning ambiguous problems into clear plans, aligning stakeholders, and delivering outcomes that make Strava more effective as we scale. This role is both strategic and tactical – it is important that you be able to see around corners, but also that you deliver to high standards on tight deadlines. This is an individual contributor role, but you will be a trusted thought partner across the People Team and with leaders across Strava.
We’re a fast-growing, global company with 700+ employees and 10+ offices around the world. Our culture is rooted in teamwork, connection, and high standards. If you’re passionate about creating a world connected through movement—and building a healthy, high-performing team—this is your opportunity.
We follow a flexible hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on-site in our San Francisco office — three days per week.
What You’ll Do
Partner directly with the CPO to drive strategic priorities: clarify goals, shape plans, and ensure strong execution and follow-through
Lead cross-company projects that strengthen how Strava operates, such as org effectiveness, operating rhythms, leadership enablement, workforce planning, talent programs, and change management
Bring analytical horsepower and use data to inform our people strategies – identifying root causes, model options/tradeoffs, and framing scalable solutions
Run high-velocity program management by defining project scope, milestones, decision points, risks, and comms; keep stakeholders aligned and unblocked
Influence without authority and build trust across functions and drive decisions to closure
Assist on a variety of critical projects and deliverables, such as developing materials for the Compensation Committee and the Board, and other ad hoc assignments
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
6-10+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy/ops, BizOps, People strategy, or a similarly rigorous environment (consulting background strongly preferred). Ideally, you’ll have experience in high-growth tech, global teams, org design/operating model work, or People COEs
Excellent communication skills, with a knack for precise, sharp writing and the ability to meet different audiences with the right tone
Strong track record leading complex, cross-functional work with measurable results
High business acumen and fluency in data and metrics—you use insights to fuel change and measure progress
Creativity, agility, perspective, trustworthiness, and grit – as well as acting with urgency and velocity. A sense of humor is an added plus
-
A strong commitment to inclusion, deep respect for people and their varied lived experiences, and a passion for building places where everyone feels seen, heard and valued
