Spotify seeks an outstanding, highly-motivated attorney to serve as Legal Counsel, Regulatory. As Regulatory Counsel, you'll help form Spotify’s regulatory compliance, response and proactive legal engagement strategy, with a particular focus on the UK and Europe. You will partner with and provide guidance to our business teams on global, ground breaking regulatory issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment!

What You'll Do

  • Refine and execute Spotify’s regulatory compliance, response and proactive legal engagement strategy, with a particular focus on the UK and Europe.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across the legal team to support Spotify’s approach to global regulations, including those concerning consumer protection, privacy and data protection, content, intellectual property, AI, and other legal areas relevant to digital products and online services.
  • Establish and maintain all regulatory legal documentation, such as regulatory filings, responses to inquiries, and advocacy materials.
  • Monitor new and updated regulations and anticipate enforcement risk. Maintain a proficient understanding of international legal and policy developments that may affect Spotify’s business, with a focus on digital regulation.
  • Meet with and present to relevant regulatory authorities on Spotify’s approach to existing regulations.
  • Collaborate with others within and outside the Legal team on regulatory responses and to advise on regulatory compliance-related product updates.

Who You Are

  • Qualified to practice law in either the UK or at least one EU member state.
  • Combined 5+ years of post-qualification experience working in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Experienced in counseling on regulatory issues for technology products and online services, (e.g., the EU AI Act, the EU Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act, and the EU Accessibility Act.
  • Strong working knowledge of legal issues relating to digital products, technology, privacy, intellectual property, content and platform liability, consumer protection, media, AI, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Solutions oriented and self-motivated with the willingness to get your hands dirty and dig in on the details of projects.
  • Highly collaborative and adept at working well as part of a team — both with other lawyers and with non-legal partners.

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in our London or Brussels office.
