What You'll Do
- Establish and grow the abuse prevention engineering team, hiring strong talent, and encouraging a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Design and deploy scalable, data-intensive systems to detect and prevent subscription abuse, both within the user journey and through offline analysis.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for abuse prevention, working closely with business teams, R&D missions, and stakeholders across the company to build strategies and tactics for abuse prevention.
- Lead the implementation of a cohesive, scalable infrastructure capable of adapting to new abuse tactics and patterns, ensuring that our efforts transition from point-to-point fixes to sustainable, long-term solutions.
- Take an active role in technical decisions, system architecture, and code reviews to ensure the solutions meet business needs and Spotify technical standards.
- Thrive in a fast changing environment where challenges are constant, and the job is never truly done, continuously iterating to improve observability and friction against known patterns as well as continuously analyzing new ones.
Who You Are
- Proven experience leading engineering teams, with a focus on building and scaling data-intensive systems.
- Outstanding ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with customers, partners, and team members to develop actionable strategies based on sophisticated technical concepts.
- Strong ability to bridge technical and business domains, aligning cross-team efforts and facilitating effective communication and decision making.
- Experience in building scalable systems that integrate data collection and processing capabilities.
- Proven ability to adapt to a constantly evolving landscape, with a focus on developing sustainable, compliant long-term solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data-heavy domains, capable of processing and analyzing large vector sets across multiple sources to detect patterns and drive or influence customer lifecycle events.
- Eagerness to work in a “blue team” environment, defending against abuse threats and staying one step ahead of abusers.
- Experience with fraud prevention, abuse detection, subscription E-commerce or similar domains.
- Expertise with data analysis tools, anomaly detection, and scalable data processing platforms and Spotify standards.
- A track record of leading teams in financially critical, high-accuracy environments.
Where You'll Be
- You'll be based in Stockholm, Sweden or London, UK.
