Job Description

About our unit
The Production Engineering Unit has seven software development teams across Trondheim and Warsaw. Our mission is to build strong technical foundations for Sportradar’s marketplace strategy. We make engineering more effective and create flexible solutions so teams can deliver faster and run systems reliably.

Our focus is on practical improvements and learning. Recent examples include AWS certification study groups, Terraform workshops, and experiments with AI to explore new ideas. Engineers are encouraged to take ownership and build solutions that scale.

Teamwork and communication are core values. Through gatherings, newsletters, and close collaboration between product and engineering leaders, we make sure everyone stays connected and informed. Our goal is better delivery and better operations.

The challenge
The Sportradar Marketplace is a platform that brings together trusted suppliers of sports data, content, and APIs. This enables users to quickly discover, trial, and activate products in one place. Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead technical discovery with suppliers, understand APIs, schemas, and authentication flows.

  • Design and build scalable integration components (services, adapters, pipelines) in collaboration with internal engineering teams.

  • Guide suppliers through onboarding and validate end-to-end functionality.

  • Set and enforce standards for API reliability, schema stability, and error handling, contributing to SLAs and operational best practices.

  • Validate and test data feeds before and after launch for accuracy and completeness.

  • Monitor production performance, troubleshoot issues, and lead remediation efforts when problems arise.

  • Influence integration architecture, patterns, and best practices.

  • Identify opportunities to automate onboarding, testing, and monitoring.

  • Provide technical insights that shape supplier prioritisation and product roadmaps.

Your Profile

You are a Software Engineer who thrive in solving complex integration challenges and enjoy working across multiple systems. Collaboration comes naturally to you, whether guiding suppliers or partnering with internal teams. You are curious, adaptable, and eager to learn, with a mindset focused on quality and continuous improvement. You take ownership, communicate clearly, and balance technical depth with practical problem-solving to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Required

  • Strong engineering background with experience building APIs, services, or data integrations

  • Proficiency with object-oriented programming and modern software craftsmanship practices.

  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native services, and event-driven or streaming architectures.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and ensure high service reliability and data quality.

  • Clear and effective communication skills.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with integration patterns, schema design, and authentication mechanisms.

  • Familiarity with AWS services, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • Background in sports data, media, or marketplace ecosystems.

  • Interest in automation, monitoring, and improving developer experience.
