As a Senior Software Developer on the Agentic Virtual Assistant team, you’ll help lead Redfin’s push to bring generative AI into the hands of every real estate agent. This team is building an AI assistant deeply embedded in Redfin’s Agent Tools, enabling agents to work smarter, move faster, and more effectively serve customers through every step of the home buying and selling journey.

In this role, you’ll help shape the architecture, strategy, and technical direction of systems that combine Redfin’s rich data ecosystem with cutting-edge AI capabilities. You’ll partner closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and operational leaders to turn emerging AI technology into practical, high-impact experiences for agents and customers alike.

About the Role

• You will be a key technical voice in defining how generative AI can transform the way Redfin agents support customers and navigate complex real estate workflows.

• You will stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving AI landscape and help evaluate, prototype, and operationalize new models, tools, and frameworks.

• You will drive thoughtful technical decisions and balance long-term platform investments with pragmatic solutions that deliver customer and business impact quickly.

• You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and business stakeholders, translating ambiguous problems into scalable technical solutions.

• You will raise the engineering bar through strong system design, code quality, testing practices, and operational excellence.

• You will mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of technical curiosity, clear communication, ownership, and continuous learning.

About You

• You have 5+ years of experience building and shipping full-stack software systems at scale, specifically in React, Java, and PostgreSQL.

• You are energized by the potential of AI and excited to explore how generative AI can improve developer productivity and empower non-technical teams to work more effectively.

• You are highly curious, adaptable, and comfortable navigating fast-moving technologies and evolving product spaces.

• You have strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of influencing technical direction, building alignment across teams, and partnering effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• You thrive in ambiguous environments, exercise sound technical judgment, and know how to prioritize for both speed and long-term maintainability.

• You care deeply about building tools that have meaningful real-world impact and are motivated by Redfin’s mission to help everyone home by enabling agents to deliver exceptional service at scale.

On-Call Expectations
This role may include participation in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability. On-call responsibilities may include coverage during nights and weekends. If applicable, frequency and scheduling will be determined by team needs and communicated accordingly.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable job posting disclosure requirements. The compensation for this position is $166,900.00-$203,900.00. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, incentives, and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K retirement plan, and paid-time off.
