The Capital Markets team is expanding our mortgage Trade Desk. We are a world-class, highly respected team in the marketplace and have working relationships with the largest buyers of mortgage loans in the country. We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of Director of Trading. The Director of Trading position is a highly visible leadership role responsible for managing our world class Trade Desk. The Trade Desk is responsible for the sale of mortgage loans.

About the Role

  • Leading and growing team members
  • Oversite of sales of mortgage loan pools
  • Regularly evaluate all execution avenues – examples include MBS, cash window, whole loan, servicing released/retained, private-label securitization
  • Explore new mortgage loan sale opportunities
  • Create, maintain, and deepen relationships with buyers of whole loan and/or mortgage assets
  • Monitor market conditions, investor sentiment, and trading volume/activity
  • Regularly communicate emerging market dynamics and valuation trends to teammates and colleagues
  • Development of a mortgage trading strategy meant to maximize profits while reducing risk
  • Identify relative value opportunities that support Capital Markets/team strategies
  • Monitor and manage our pipeline of loans not yet sold
  • Provide guidance to team members, as well as leadership across Capital Markets
  • Drive for continuous process improvement as warranted

About You

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4 to 6 years of mortgage trading experience
  • 2 to 3 years of leadership experience
  • Highly motivated and able to lead, inspire, and grow team members
  • Highly organized and able to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Able to work in a challenging, fast paced, technical environment
  • Able to handle complex issues and problems, and refer only the most complex or sensitive issues to leadership
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel
