About Revolut

People deserve more from their money. More visibility, more control, and more freedom. Since 2015, Revolut has been on a mission to deliver just that. Our powerhouse of products — including spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling, and more — help our 50+ million customers get more from their money every day.

As we continue our lightning-fast growth,‌ 2 things are essential to our success: our people and our culture. In recognition of our outstanding employee experience, we've been certified as a Great Place to Work™. So far, we have 10,000+ people working around the world, from our offices and remotely, to help us achieve our mission. And we're looking for more brilliant people. People who love building great products, redefining success, and turning the complexity of a chaotic world into the simplicity of a beautiful solution.

About the role

The Legal team sits at the heart of Revolut and it's a very important part of the business. This lovely bunch supports all other Revolut teams, helping us achieve our goals each and every day. 🚀

They're special, they're strong-willed, and they work on a lot of different areas (which is not that common for an in-house role, we know, but they're just that good). You'll be supporting the Legal department on a lot of different topics.

We’re looking for a Complaints Legal Counsel to handle incoming customer complaints for external dispute resolution platforms. You’ll also work on pre-action letters and responses to claims, and will provide day-to-day legal advice as a business partner to key stakeholders🧑‍⚖ We’re looking for someone with the legal experience and ability to effectively analyse legal case outcomes to identify Revolut’s weak points.

The goal? To improve the quality of our services and make sure that we deliver WOW at all times!

Up for the challenge? Let’s get in touch 👇

What you’ll be doing

  • Running internal fact-finding investigations
  • Handling external dispute resolution complaints in accordance with the local law and regulation
  • Representing Revolut before external dispute resolution forums
  • Working on early stage or less complex litigation, such as pre-action letters, responses to claims, and case reviews
  • Assisting the Disputes Legal Team and Legal Counsels working at Revolut EEA branches with ad hoc work and advice
  • Identifying, analysing, and resolving issues and helping to implement improvements, not only team-wide but company-wide as well
  • Analysing case outcomes to identify Revolut’s weak points in order to remediate them
  • Setting up and/or improving internal procedures
  • Actively contributing to the culture where the fair treatment of customers is a priority
  • Seeking to go above and beyond the role by taking real ownership of problems, policies, or procedures from end to end
  • Cooperating closely with other departments during case investigations

What you'll need

  • A bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent in the Netherlands
  • Legal experience as a private practice lawyer dealing with financial services and/or equal in-house experience is highly preferred
  • Fluency in English and Dutch with exceptional communication and writing skills
  • An analytical mindset able to investigate and get to the root of a problem
  • To know when and how to best utilise means of redress (i.e. refunds including negotiations)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use analysis and resources to efficiently resolve a complex case
  • Great attention to detail and common sense
  • The ability to excel both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrable ability to work in fast-paced environments and make sound judgements under tight deadlines
  • A readiness to improve every aspect of Revolut and yourself

Nice to have

  • Fluency in any other European language
  • Experience in all stages of litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and regulatory matters and issues
