⭐ Mission
Join us as a Team Lead Android and help shape the mobile experience for our 600,000+ customers across Europe. You'll lead the Android team working on critical business features within our AppSystem / Connect scope, while serving as a role model for other leads and driving continuous improvement across mobile engineering.
The mobile engineering team at Qonto currently has over 130 highly skilled engineers distributed in cross-functional teams, who come from all over the world, working closely to shape the best business finance solution app.
As a Team Lead Android, you'll have the opportunity to elevate both your team's performance and influence the broader mobile engineering culture, working closely with Adrien Cadet, Head of Mobile, and other Leads to build the financial app that will serve 2 million SMEs by 2030.
👩💻🧑💻 As a Team Lead Android at Qonto, you will:
• Lead with Excellence: Manage a team of 5 Android Engineers across our cross-functional AppSystem & Connect team, fostering their growth through mentorship, pairing, and regular feedback sessions.
• Drive Delivery & Quality: Ensure projects are delivered on time with high quality standards, anticipating dependencies and potential roadblocks while maintaining engineering best practices.
• Coach & Develop: Provide guidance to team members at all levels, including coaching staff engineers, and conduct regular 1-on-1s and quarterly progress reviews.
• Cross-Team Leadership: Take ownership beyond your direct team, identifying systemic issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the mobile engineering organization.
• Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with product and design partners to challenge roadmaps, scope projects effectively, and ensure business objectives are met through technical excellence.

• Technical Excellence: Our Android app is 100% Kotlin-based using MVVM & Clean architecture, Coordinator pattern, Coroutines and Flows, with ongoing initiatives like modularization and Jetpack Compose migration.
• Quality Focus: Join a team with 14,000+ unit tests and 1,400+ UI tests, using Clean Code/SOLID principles and a component-based approach with our design system.
• Cross-Functional Impact: Work within teams handling critical business areas like Cards, Spend Management, Invoices, and Bookkeeping, directly impacting hundreds of thousands of users.
• Continuous Learning: Benefit from structured tools inspired by Lean management and the "Qonto Way" culture of continuous improvement, with opportunities for knowledge sharing and tech conferences.
🏅 About You
• Technical Leadership: Strong knowledge/experience in Kotlin and Android SDK with a proven track record of leading technical decisions and driving delivery in complex environments.
• Management Experience: Previous experience as a team lead with demonstrated people management skills, including mentoring and developing engineers at different seniority levels.
• Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to identify systemic issues, implement improvements, and drive continuous optimization - you don't wait for permission to fix obvious problems.
• Communication Excellence: Clear, structured communication skills with the ability to adapt your message to different audiences and provide context-rich updates to stakeholders. Also, you are fluent in English.
• Adaptability: Comfortable thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities can rapidly change (quarterly roadmaps), you see this as a chance to make meaningful impact and you excel at maintaining team performance and morale.
