About Perceptyx

At Perceptyx, we help organizations see the employee experience more clearly. Our AI-powered continuous listening platform enables leaders to understand what matters most to their people and turn insights into meaningful action. We partner with the world's most innovative enterprises to drive transformation across engagement, performance, wellbeing, DEI, and change initiatives.

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to play a highly influential role on our Platform team. This is a senior individual contributor role with real organizational impact.
You will help shape how Perceptyx builds software in an AI-driven world. As AI-assisted development rapidly changes how software is written, tested, and delivered, we are intentionally bringing in engineers who can lead that transition, coach others, and raise the technical bar across the team.
This role partners closely with engineering leadership and serves as a force multiplier across the organization, setting standards, introducing modern practices, and influencing how we design, build, and scale our platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and Multiply: Act as a senior technical leader on the Platform team, coaching engineers and elevating modern software engineering and AI-first development practices across the organization.
  • AI-Driven Development: Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development, guiding the team on how to effectively and safely use AI for coding, testing, and delivery as tools and models rapidly evolve.
  • Architect and Build: Design, develop, and evolve scalable, high-performance frontend and backend systems using a modern full-stack approach.
  • Quality and Reliability: Lead by example through clean code, thoughtful reviews, test-driven development, and strong operational discipline in production.
  • Scale and Optimize: Anticipate performance and scaling challenges, using monitoring and observability tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate and Influence: Partner closely with Product and Design to deliver cohesive solutions and clearly communicate technical decisions across teams.

What You Bring

  • Senior Engineering Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, including system design, development, and testing of scalable, database-driven applications.
  • Technical Leadership Mindset: A passion for coaching, influencing, and elevating other engineers through modern software engineering practices.
  • Backend Strength: Proficiency in Go, Python, or C++.
  • Frontend Fluency: Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React or Vue, along with solid HTML, CSS, and build tooling knowledge.
  • Data & Platforms: Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, and comfort working across Linux, macOS, and Windows environments.
  • AI-First Development: Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor, with a strong point of view on prompt design, validation, and safe use of AI-generated code.
  • Quality & Operations: Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and observability tools such as Datadog.
  • Communication & Judgment: Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate and lead across teams.

Our Interview Process & AI Transparency

Compliance Note: Required for Ontario (Bill 149) and North American transparency standards.
At Perceptyx, we value your time and want our interviewers to be fully engaged in the conversation.
  • Note-Taking: We use Metaview.ai to record and summarize our interviews. This allows our hiring team to focus on you rather than typing notes, ensuring a fairer evaluation.
  • AI Disclosure: While we use AI to assist in summarizing interview data, all final hiring decisions are made by Perceptyx employees.
  • Your Choice (Opt-Out): Participation in recorded interviews is voluntary. If you prefer not to be recorded, please notify your recruiter at the start of the session. Opting out will not negatively impact your candidacy.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 CAD per year.
    • Note: Final compensation is determined by factors including experience, geography, and skills.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage; RRSP matching; generous PTO; parental leave; and professional development budget.

Perceptyx is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce. In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Perceptyx provides accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.
Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
