Full-time
Payoneer is transforming into an AI-native company - where AI is not just a capability, but a core execution layer embedded across how we build products, operate workflows, and scale globally.
To lead this transformation, we are looking for a visionary, infrastructure-minded Senior Product Director to own our Core AI Platform. This is a foundational, high-leverage role responsible for defining, building, and scaling the technical ecosystem that enables AI to be deployed seamlessly across the entire organization. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI capabilities and robust, enterprise-grade infrastructure, ensuring our teams have the tools they need to innovate at lightning speed.
What Success Looks Like:
You are not building AI features for a single product or business unit, you are defining the operating layer that lets every team at Payoneer build trusted AI and accelerate the shift to an AI-native company, powering products, engineering, business operations, and customer experiences. Your work will define the AI operating layer that powers Payoneer's next decade of innovation.
Success means turning Payoneer into a true AI-native company where AI is our default execution layer. Within your first year, you will have eliminated deployment friction and delivered an intuitive infrastructure that engineering, risk, and product teams want to use rather than have to use. You win when internal teams are seamlessly shipping autonomous agents and AI workflows at lightning speed, directly scaling our global operations.
Success is measured through platform adoption and reuse across the company, engineering and business productivity, customer impact, AI quality, safety, and reliability, platform scalability, and business impact through cost efficiency and revenue growth.
What you'll do:
- Define & Execute the AI-Native Strategy: Partner closely with the CPTO and executive leadership to translate Payoneer’s high-level AI vision into a concrete, multi-year product strategy and platform roadmap.
- Build the Platform as a Product: Treat internal developers as your primary customers. Own the lifecycle of Payoneer’s AI infrastructure, turning highly complex backend systems and data pipelines into intuitive, reusable, and consumable capabilities.
- Architect Core AI Capabilities: Design and scale the foundational frameworks for autonomous Agents, advanced developer experiences (DX), and rapid-adoption workflows that dramatically lower the friction of deploying AI models.
- Ensure Governance & Scalability: Establish robust platform standards for AI governance, model evaluation, security, compliance, and cost-efficiency, ensuring our AI-native shift is both hyper-fast and highly secure.
- Drive Cultural & Technical Evangelism: Act as a core thought leader internally and externally on AI innovation within fintech. Champion a platform culture where teams want to leverage your infrastructure, not just have to use it.
- Deliver the First AI-Native Solutions: Lead the first generation of AI-native solutions, such as coding agents, business-workflow automation, and customer-facing assistants, that validate the platform and establish reusable patterns others can adopt.
- Shape the Future of AI: Continuously evaluate emerging models, tools, and startups, and define how product management itself evolves in an AI-native company, including new operating models, AI metrics, and platform investment decisions.
Who you are:
- Experienced Platform Leader: You have 12+ years of product management experience, with a significant portion dedicated to owning heavy technical platforms, developer tools, or large-scale data infrastructure in a global environment.
- Impactful People Leader: You are an experienced manager with a proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire cross-functional and product teams. You excel at setting clear strategic direction, removing blockers, and building a culture of high performance and continuous growth.
- A Deep Technical Diver: You can plunge straight into the technical weeds with Principal Engineers and data scientists. You understand the underlying limitations of the infrastructure and can earn the respect of highly technical teams immediately.
- Proven AI Product Background: You bring 2–3+ years of hands-on experience shipping AI/ML capabilities, LLM orchestration frameworks, or autonomous agent infrastructure. You know how to transform cutting-edge tech into practical, easy-to-use tools for internal teams.
- A Friction Cutter: You are an excellent communicator who knows how to drive platform adoption across different departments like Engineering, Risk, and Compliance. You build systems that internal teams want to use because it makes their lives easier.
- A Systems Thinker & Influencer: You connect technology, product, and business strategy, create clarity in ambiguity, and influence senior stakeholders across a large, matrixed organization without direct authority. You are pragmatic about when to invent, build, buy, and partner to maximize impact.
