As part of Payoneer, the Merchant Services team is an internationally distributed group with a presence across the globe. We’re looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our Risk Management and Fraud Prevention team at Payoneer Merchant Services.
We’re an internationally distributed team, hiring people to work from home - though we have an office in Germany acting as the Merchant Services hub for occasional meetups, as well as some hot-desking space in London.
We are searching for Software Engineers to live in and work from Germany, Israel, or the UK.

What’s the job?

• Within Engineering, we provide a range of software services, internally- and externally-facing, with React frontends built on top of RESTful APIs provided by Java services, mostly built with Spring Boot.
• We have a hybrid colocated/distributed group of software engineers, working closely with the product team. Within that, we have a variety of cross-functional teams, each of which owns and maintains a variety of services and apps.
• We talk via Slack and Zoom, our code lives in GitHub, our tasks in Jira and our internal documentation in Confluence.
• Within the Risk Management and Fraud Prevention team we design, implement and maintain software services that identify and manage risks, in order to keep our merchants and customers safe

Things you'll do:

• Work with our Product team and other backend and frontend developers to design, implement and maintain software services for the Risk Management and Fraud Prevention domain
• Work independently and with high autonomy within our teams
• Foster a security first mindset, and lead by example
• Foster a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing within and across our teams
• Foster a culture within the team of having conversations based on organisational strategy and principles, to create alignment
• Collaborate with others to improve team and organisational practices and processes
• Learn new things and help us learn new things too

Have you done this kind of stuff?

• Good command of spoken and written English, our chosen language of communication
• Experience building Java software services for the web
• Focus on strong engineering practices and building quality software
• Familiarity with agile, iterative design processes
• Good communication skills
