This role involves crafting tailored sales and negotiation strategies to meet unique client needs.

Additionally, you will be expected to cultivate long-term, strategic partnerships with key accounts to support sustained business growth and success.

1. Bidding & Tender Management

  • Opportunity Review: Proactively monitor and review government bidding opportunities (RFPs/RFIs) to identify those that align with company capabilities.
  • Go/No-Go Evaluation: Establish criteria to determine which tenders the company should participate in based on feasibility and strategic value.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Lead the bidding process by coordinating with internal departments, including Legal, Product, and Finance, to ensure all documentation and technical requirements are met.
  • Management Reporting: Keep the leadership team updated on bid status, timelines, and competitive landscapes.
  • Project Launch: Lead the implementation phase of awarded projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet the specific requirements of the government entity.

2. Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Account Planning: Develop a regional plan to expand large-scale sales and foster relationships with key government entities.
  • Product Adaptation: Lead discussions on strategy and cost to adapt commercial EdTech products for the government vertical.
  • Market Growth: Identify new growth opportunities and collaborate with other sales areas to leverage synergies.

3. Revenue & Profitability Management

  • Target Achievement: Drive revenue goals for the Public Sector, including upsell, renewals, and new contract closures.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensure the profitability of each implemented project through diligent KPI tracking and budget management.
  • Forecasting: Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasting and track deviations to implement corrective measures.

4. Strategic Account Management & Retention

  • Relationship Governance: Establish and lead a multi-level relationship map within each government entity, ensuring strong ties with both administrative decision-makers and technical project leads.
  • Proactive Retention Strategy: Develop and execute a 365-day engagement calendar for each account, moving beyond the "renewal window" to ensure Open English is perceived as an indispensable partner.
  • Continuous Feedback Loops: Implement a structured cadence of Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Strategic Reviews (QSRs) to align our delivery with the changing political and educational priorities of the government agency.

  • Outcome-Based Growth: Deeply involve yourself in account performance metrics (usability, engagement, satisfaction, and accomplishment rates).
  • Risk Mitigation: Actively monitor account operational metrics. Identify potential roadblocks—such as low adoption rates or leadership changes within the government agency—and deploy corrective action plans to safeguard the contract.
  • Account Renewal & Growth: Maintain a "Renewal Heat Map" to track the health of all active accounts. Identify risks timely and design effective retention strategies to ensure renewal and growth long before the formal renewal process begins.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
