Summary
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Renewals to launch our new renewals team in 2026 and own the end-to-end customer renewal process. You will be responsible for developing a team of Renewal Managers and executing strategies to retain and grow recurring revenue, ensure high customer satisfaction, and collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Sales, and Finance. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of SaaS or subscription-based business models and a passion for customer success and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Hire and manage the renewals team to achieve customer retention and revenue goals.
- Own the renewal strategy, including forecasting, pipeline management, and renewal playbooks.
- Partner closely with Customer Success and Sales to align renewal timing, upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and customer health data.
- Build scalable processes to improve renewal efficiency and reduce churn.
- Analyze renewal metrics and trends, identifying risks and opportunities within the customer base.
- Collaborate with Finance and Legal on renewal pricing, contract terms, and negotiation guidelines.
- Drive continuous improvements to CRM and renewal automation tools.
- Hire, train, and mentor team members to support their professional development and performance.
- Report on KPIs including renewal rate, net revenue retention (NRR), churn, and expansion revenue.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related advanced degree a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in Account Management or Renewals Leadership in a B2B or SaaS environment.
- 6+ years of leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
- Proven track record of exceeding retention and growth targets.
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics and subscription revenue models.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Planhat, or other customer success and CRM tools.
- Experience with customer segmentation and health scoring models.
- Familiarity with renewal forecasting and revenue recognition processes.
- Background in change management and driving cross-functional initiatives.
