Job Description Summary

OneSource Virtual is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of our advanced network infrastructure in a hybrid-cloud environment. This role requires expertise in network segmentation, cloud networking (AWS VPC), security (IPSec, Fortinet), and traditional networking (Cisco, routing/switching). The ideal candidate will drive our network segmentation initiatives, ensure network resilience, and lead network operations while fostering team development. This hybrid position requires on-site presence in Dallas, TX, as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement network segmentation strategies across hybrid-cloud infrastructure
• Architect and manage AWS VPC environments, BGP configurations, and IPSec tunnels
• Lead network operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response
• Design, implement, and maintain Fortinet and Cisco network infrastructure
• Manage routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure across enterprise environments
• Automate network management using scripting and network automation tools
• Ensure 24/7 network availability through proactive monitoring and participation in on-call rotation
• Collaborate with security team on firewall policies and network security initiatives
• Develop comprehensive network documentation, standards, and best practices
• Mentor and develop network team members' technical capabilities
• Manage VMware network virtualization and hybrid cloud network integration
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 7+ years of network engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or 10+ years without a degree)
• Strong skills in:
  • Network segmentation, micro-segmentation, and zero-trust architectures
  • BGP, IPSec VPNs, and AWS VPC/transit gateway design
  • Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and Cisco routing/switching (IOS/NX-OS)
  • Network monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • VMware NSX and software-defined networking
  • Network automation (Python, Ansible) and infrastructure as code
  • High-availability design, redundancy protocols, and QoS
  • Technical documentation and Visio network diagrams
• Required participation in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical network incidents
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for managing multiple priorities
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise, Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE 4/NSE 7), AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization (VCP-NV)
