About the role
Location: Bogotá, Colombia
The mission of the Regulatory Solutions team is to support Nu Colombia’s sustainable growth by ensuring that AML, ACF (Anti-Corruption), Garnishments, and other regulatory routines comply with both local and international requirements. We challenge the status quo through:

- Operational Execution: Managing end-to-end AML routines, including KYC, PEP, Local Lists, Negative Media, Sanctions, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Transactional Monitoring, Garnishments, and SAC (Customer Support) inquiries.
- Upholding Principles: Acting with diligence, flexibility, and resilience in alignment with our corporate values.
To achieve these goals, the AML & KYC Ops team is responsible for safeguarding the institution against illicit activities related to Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (ML/TF).
You'll be responsible for
The Analyst role involves the following core functions within the AML and KYC workflows:
- Transactional Monitoring: Analyze alerts generated by the transactional monitoring system to identify ML/TF risk patterns that may require filing a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR/ROS) with the UIAF.
- Network Analysis: Identify high-risk networks and escalate cases involving high technical or regulatory complexity.
- Screening (Lists & Media): Execute and analyze screening results against Local Lists, Targeted Financial Sanctions, PEP, and Negative News, performing intensified due diligence for identified matches.
- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD): Conduct in-depth investigations for high-risk clients, including the validation of economic activity, Source of Funds (SoF) and Source of Wealth (SoW) to ensure comprehensive customer knowledge.
- FATCA/CRS: Execute end-to-end FATCA and CRS due diligence, including the classification of individual and entity accounts, validation of self-certifications, and the identification of reportable accounts to ensure global tax transparency.
- Operational Strengthening: Contribute to team alignment with the financial institution’s responsibilities and support the implementation of process improvements within KYC and AML workflows.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in transactional alert monitoring, KYC, PEP/Sanctions screening, or high-risk client analysis.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of local and international regulations applicable to KYC and transactional monitoring, following SARLAFT guidelines and expectations.
- Technical Skills: Analytical capacity to manipulate data; familiarity with tools such as SQL or Scala is highly valued.
- Decision-Making: Autonomy to make decisions that impact both the customer and the organization, based on established AML policies.
- Languages: Fluency in Spanish and Upper-Intermediate English.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss complex cases with various stakeholders.
