About the team:

The Credit Risk Squad is part of the 2nd line of Defense. It is responsible for managing and overseeing our organization's credit risk function by providing independent oversight, review & challenge of the risk takers, defined as 1st line of Defense. As a second line, the Credit Risk team monitors credit risk exposure, conducts credit risk assessments, provides guidance and support to the credit areas that make credit decisions, and supervises all the regulatory needs and demands related to credit.


As a Risk Management Specialist you're expected to:

  • Propose and monitor KPIs in order to explain changes in CO portfolio credit risk.
  • Review and challenge credit policies defined by the first line.
  • Engage with Business Units, building an effective relationship to oversee and support new credit decisions, ensuring high standards and good practices in the assessments.
  • Review and monitor credit risk appetite.
  • Share knowledge about Colombia credit market and regulations with other stakeholders.
  • Set up a report procedure to guarantee an efficient communication regarding CO portfolio credit risk to enable Nubank’s sustainable growth.

We are looking for a Risk Management Specialist- Credit risk who has:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Math, Statistics, Physics or related fields.
  • Knowledge in Expected Credit Loss models/PD/EAD/LGD, financial forecasting, and International Standards (such as IFRS9, Basel II, Basel III)
  • Analytical, problem solving and passionate to manipulate data in order to learn from it.
  • Deep Knowledge of the local regulatory framework, including credit risk classification, provisions/ECL
  • Experience managing Credit Risk demonstrated by either working in the first line or second line of defense, or implementing credit risk related projects.
  • Good coding skills (SQL, Python, Scala, or other similar programming languages), and have relevant experience handling large amounts of data
  • Adaptability to dynamic way of working/short-term deliverables
  • Advanced or Fluent English
