Senior Manager, Global Affairs Strategy & Engagement
Los Angeles, CA, USA
USD 325k-515k / year + Equity
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
The Team
The Policy Strategy Partners (PSP) team sits within Netflix’s Global Affairs team, as a global, central function of deep policy specialists, who provide substantive advice and strategic guidance on our policy priorities and markets. We work closely with our regional Global Affairs leads and cross-functional partners in content, comms, marketing, legal and product to drive alignment, shape global business strategies, and ensure those strategies are locally resonant, accounting for cultural, legal, and regulatory nuances.
The Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Global Affairs Strategy & Engagement is a policy positioning and integration role: it will serve all of our global policy priority narratives, and focus on the substance, strategy, and alignment of our policy positions. The remit is to connect work across issues, shape a clear and coherent policy narrative for the company, and support the Global Affairs team broadly and senior leaders in carrying that narrative into important external settings. These narratives are distinct from, but complementary to, broader communications work: they are more deeply tailored to our policy backdrop and objectives, and centered on the substance of policy issues rather than more general messaging.
This role is based in Los Angeles, CA, and will report to the Director, Global Affairs - Policy Strategy Partners Engagement based in Brussels.
Responsibilities
Identify cross-issue links, trade-offs and risks in a timely way.
Bring policy perspectives into product and business planning early enough to shape outcomes.
Ensure engagements with governments, regulators and industry partners are grounded in a coherent, well-understood position.
Setting up practical routines that bring the right people together around shared questions and decisions.
Turning complex policy discussions into clear options and guidance for decision-makers.
Maintaining a clear line between our internal policy work and how we show up externally.
This is fundamentally a policy positioning and integration role: clarifying where we stand, how the pieces fit together, and how that translates into product decisions and external engagement.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or advocacy strategy, ideally within a global or matrixed organisation
Proven ability to lead through influence in cross-functional environments, driving alignment across teams without direct authority
Exceptional programme and project management skills, with a track record of running complex, multi-stakeholder workstreams across time zones and geographies
Strong budget management experience, including planning, tracking, and optimising resources across campaigns or initiatives
Highly organised with sharp prioritisation instincts, knows when to escalate, when to step back, and when to drive
Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex policy issues into compelling narratives for senior audiences
Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence, comfortable engaging at C-suite and senior government level
Excellent judgment, intellectual curiosity, and rigorous attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred.
