Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Within the broader Engineering organization, Infrastructure Engineering increases the productivity of Netflix developers by promoting the adoption and adherence to Paved Path products and ensuring high availability for cloud services. Within this context, the Engineering Operations organization effectively scales the technical operations needed to keep Infrastructure Engineering running smoothly by investing in tooling and automation.

Our newly formed Knowledge Platform initiative sits at the center of this mission. Born from the merger of our Manuals (technical documentation) and Support (developer assistance) initiatives, the Knowledge Platform is how Netflix engineers find answers — whether by reading great documentation or by asking a question and getting an immediate, accurate response. We are reimagining both spaces with cutting-edge GenAI: AI-driven documentation that stays current and useful, and GenAI-powered support bots that resolve developer questions and reduce toil at scale. This is a fresh, fast-moving space full of ambiguity and room to innovate — not an established backlog to work through, but a problem space where you help define what comes next.

This role is based in Warsaw, and our teams work in a hybrid-working model.

What you will do

As a Software Engineer on the Knowledge Platform team, you will:

  • Design, build, and operate the systems behind Netflix's AI-driven documentation and GenAI-powered developer support experiences.

  • Help shape the technical direction and roadmap of a brand-new platform, bringing your own ideas and opinions rather than waiting for scope to be handed to you.

  • Apply GenAI and LLM-based techniques to real developer problems — improving the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of documentation and support responses.

  • Navigate ambiguity and rapidly evolving requirements, making thoughtful trade-offs and iterating quickly to deliver impact.

  • Provide technical leadership: drive projects forward, raise the bar on engineering quality, and mentor peers.

  • Partner closely with product, program management, and fellow engineers across Engineering to ensure the platform meets the needs of Netflix developers.

  • Own your work end to end — from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of building and operating high-quality production systems. Experience with Java and Python is preferred; we are equally open to engineers with strong backgrounds in Kotlin, C#, or similar languages who can ramp quickly on a new stack.

  • Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for GenAI — hands-on experience is a strong plus, but a demonstrated desire and willingness to work with GenAI and LLM-driven technologies is what matters most.

  • A drive to innovate and create. You are excited by open-ended, ambiguous problems and motivated to suggest and pursue new directions rather than land on a fully established scope.

  • Technical leadership experience — the ability to drive a project forward, influence technical decisions, and elevate the people around you.

  • A fast and effective learner who is comfortable adapting to Netflix's specific internal stack and tooling.

  • Experience in the knowledge/documentation space, or a platform and developer-productivity background, is a plus — but not required. We value the right mindset and curiosity about this problem space over a specific résumé.

  • Customer empathy and a customer-oriented mindset. As a platform engineer, you keep the developers you serve at the center of your decisions, actively seeking out their needs and pain points to shape what you build. (A strong plus.)

  • Hands-on experience with GenAI and working with LLM harnesses, such as prompt orchestration, agentic tooling, and evaluation frameworks. (A strong plus.)

  • We hire for mindset, drive, and ability to learn — not pedigree. Outstanding engineers come from companies of every size, and we are excited to hear from candidates with strong general engineering backgrounds, regardless of whether they come from big tech.

What to Expect From Us

  • High Impact - your work will touch every engineer at the company and be crucial for the ongoing success of Netflix.

  • Stunning Colleagues - you will be working with other excellent people with diverse perspectives, who value collaboration, working to excel as the “dream team”.

  • Energizing Challenges - there is a wealth of opportunity when working on complex technical projects and our culture both enables and encourages you to rise to the challenges.

  • Feedback – you will constantly have opportunities for growth because meaningful, positive, and constructive feedback is part of everyday life at Netflix.

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully.
