About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned leader to drive impact at scale across the Japan Publicity team and the broader Japan Marketing team. This role will balance leadership and execution of publicity and multi-disciplinary strategy to drive greater awareness and conversation about our titles, talent, and brand in a highly competitive landscape. A successful candidate will elevate title and slate campaign work, root prioritization conversations in strategy and key business metrics across local, regional, and global title priorities, and provide guidance and perspective to their teams and peers that goes beyond industry standards to set a high bar of excellence.
Responsibilities
Up-level publicity campaign workflow and execution, and instill publicity excellence amongst team members as the team and business scale.
Work closely with and act as a strategic thought partner to peers within Marketing, Content, and Communications, as well as execute Country, title, and brand campaign strategy.
Serve as an expert on Japan, conveying its specific cultural needs and nuances within the company.
Autonomously manage cross-functional relationships across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of high-profile traditional and new/emerging media, including influencers/ digital creators.
Manage team budget and monitor key metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and foster team growth and development.
Assist your team in navigating ambiguity by providing relevant business and/or functional context, enabling team members to make sound judgment calls and work across a wide range of issues.
Serve as a resource for creative feedback and development for less tenured members of the team.
Where impactful and relevant, be prepared to contribute beyond your immediate scope, including in business forums and memos, encourage, mentor, and inspire the team to do the same.

Experience & Skills
15+ years of experience in building strategic and creative PR campaigns, preferably at a streaming network or studio with a background in entertainment (TV, film), global lifestyle/sports brand, social/content platforms, or publicity agency.
Deep knowledge, passion, or interest in the entertainment industry, ideally with experience working with creators, producers, production companies or talent.
Fluency in Japanese is required. Business-level English is preferred.
Strong people-management skills, including coaching and developing diverse talent, and providing and seeking constructive feedback.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
