At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

Our mission to entertain the world is anchored in our content, and data is a crucial component in shaping our comprehensive content strategy. The Content DSE team provides Netflix with a trusted measurement framework for content quality and value. We develop and evolve the metrics that inform billions of dollars in content investment decisions. As a measurement center of excellence, we don't just compute metrics-we define what success means, build the infrastructure to scale them, and make them accessible to stakeholders across the company.

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to build measurement insights, data products, and prototypes that inform strategic content decisions. This role will partner closely with the business and data scientists to translate research concepts into production-ready prototypes, develop new metrics from concept to launch, and create analytical tools that make complex measurement frameworks accessible to stakeholders. You'll have significant ownership over projects-from metric development and validation to dashboard design and stakeholder presentations-and will proactively identify opportunities to improve how Netflix measures content success.

In this role, you will:

  • Research, design, and prototype new metrics and measurement frameworks that inform content strategy and investment decisions, proactively identifying gaps and opportunities

  • Build dashboards, analytical tools, and self-service products that make measurement insights accessible to stakeholders

  • Partner with data scientists and business partners to operationalize measurement research, developing prototypes, ETL workflows, and data models before partnering with data engineering for production scaling

  • Conduct exploratory analyses on content performance, member behavior, and metric validation to inform strategic decisions

  • Drive metric development end-to-end-from concept development through validation, senior leadership presentations, documentation, and stakeholder education

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to stakeholders across Content, Finance, Marketing and Product, influencing decision-making through clear insights

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years in analytics engineering, data science, or similar analytical role building data products

  • Expert-level SQL and strong proficiency in Python or R for analytical prototyping, statistical analysis, and data manipulation at scale

  • Proven track record building dashboards and data visualization products (Tableau, Looker, or similar)

  • Experience with data modeling, ETL workflows, and modern data stack technologies (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Spark)

  • Strong analytical skills—comfortable conducting exploratory research, validating hypotheses, and working at the intersection of research and production

  • Self-starter with high autonomy who proactively identifies impactful problems, drives projects from ambiguous starting points, and asks "what should we measure?" and "how can we make this better?"

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences at all levels, including senior leadership

  • Strong partnership skills with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders

  • Enthusiastic about Netflix culture and values

We'd be especially excited if you also have:

  • Experience with measurement systems and metric development

  • Background in content analytics, entertainment, or product analytics

  • Familiarity with statistical concepts (causal inference, experimental design, regression analysis)

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and driving metric launches

  • Comfort leveraging AI tools to enhance workflows and accelerate development
