Position Summary

We are seeking a Workflow Manager to join our pioneering team creating animated shorts and specials using experimental GenAI-native production pipelines. This role will help support a fast-paced, experimental animation production process, leveraging both generative AI and traditional tools to create feature-quality content in a creator-led environment. The Workflow Manager will specifically work with our Production and Technology teams to help document and support the selection of artist workflows, while driving relevant production management systems and workflows accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Production leadership and INK artists to document newly developed workflows across GenAI-native and traditional animation, including by shadowing production meetings and dailies to ensure accurate documentation

  • Iterate on these workflow documents over the course of multiple productions

  • Manage tracking of all iterations of workflows, including depreciating workflow documentation

  • Partner with technology to adopt changes across tooling, applications, and platforms

  • Share workflow learnings with artists and production staff across concurrent shows

  • Work with Production leadership to cascade best practices for production management across shows

  • Work with Production management to set up show management tools (including FlowPT) and other relevant asset tracking systems

  • Assist in the evaluation of optimal workflows as productions develop multiple approaches and identify areas for improvement and investment

  • Partner with the COO and Technology to prioritize areas of investment across workflow and tool development

  • Help to define and reflect artists’ production needs so that Technology and Technical Directors can optimally plan and build solutions

  • Help with research into solutions being developed externally to understand additional options for INK

  • Work with the Producer to understand each filmmaker’s priorities and artists’ preferred production approaches

  • Collaborate with filmmakers and artists to assist in the selection of optimal workflows and tools for each new production based on understanding show needs and learnings across all INK productions

  • Assist in artist onboarding to the INK, specifically around learning INK best practices, tools, and workflows

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of animation pipelines from pre-production through post-production, with openness to learning and supporting GenAI-native workflows and experimental technology integration

  • Experience working in or in support of production management on animated features

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive implementation within an agile, fast-paced, and collaborative environment that is constantly evolving

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; detail-oriented while being flexible and adaptable

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, especially with the ability to translate between creative, technical, and executive audiences and build alignment around new workflows

  • Ability to provide candid, helpful, tactful, and timely feedback to colleagues

  • Ability to think with long-term as well as short-term goals in mind

  • Knowledge of asset and shot tracking systems, preferably ShotGrid / FlowPT

  • Experienced in Google Suite (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of various industry software applications, such as Final Draft, StoryboardPro, Photoshop, Toon Boom, Maya, Nuke, Unreal Engine, Blender, etc.

  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a team

This job is based in the US.

At INK, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The overall market range for this role is typically $160,000.00 - 252,000.00 USD. This reflects total compensation; we do not have bonuses.
