The Platform Apps and Innovation team develops the Netflix application that runs on the largest SmartTV+ providers worldwide on devices from Amazon, Google, Roku, LG, Samsung, and others. We succeed by unlocking new capabilities and continuous improvements measured by increased velocity of change and excellence in pushing up QoE.


Who you are:

  • Strong collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate about App and Playback QoE attributes, adept in AndroidTV device identity and security concepts.
  • Fluent in Java, C/C++, Linux shell script, Javascript, CLI, experienced in embedded systems with full-stack and system development skills.
  • AndroidTV OS Expert: Knowledge of AndroidTV internals, AndroidTV APIs, system broadcasts, and work managers for background tasks.
  • Experienced in hardware OEMs and AndroidTV OS to align on OS, device, and application specifications, out-of-app experiences (incl. but not limited to Discovery and Voice), and certification activities.


What you will do:

  • Netflix AndroidTV Application: enhance and maintain the app for OEM device preload and Google Play Store deployment, and impact on real-time metrics.
  • Netflix AndroidTV Application and Build Systems: build, enhance, maintain, and migrate as necessary.
  • Change Velocity: explore and propose opportunities, align with key stakeholders, and execute.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to service their roadmap, build our roadmap, and identify technical constraints and gaps, and costs to address.
  • Collaborate with business and partnerships stakeholders to build, enhance, maintain, and migrate technologies, incl. Functional and Security for out-of-app experiences.

What sets you apart:

  • Prior experience in AndroidTV and building and operating end-to-end systems
  • Prior experience in QoE metrics-driven software development and deployment
  • Prior experience in embedded development including identity and security

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $388,000.00 - $558,000.00.
