The Role
We are looking for a Senior Game Analyst / Analytics Engineer for our Business Intelligence team working in Helsinki, Finland. You will work as an embedded analyst in our Cloud Games, providing scalable data infrastructure, products and solutions to our teams building local cooperative and competitive party games for cloud streaming and multiple device play. We hope you are excited about using data to help guide strategic decision-making and the design and creation of great games.
We are looking for someone with both prior experience with, as well as passion for in-game analytics, and the technical expertise for building the infrastructure and tooling required for this. You will work in close collaboration with our experienced Game Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Engineers, in addition to our colleagues in the wider Netflix Games DSE organization to provide insights and tooling to scale data-driven decision making at the Next Games studio and across Netflix Games.
Responsibilities
Building and maintaining robust, reliable data pipelines
Proactively identifying and performing data exploration and deep dives to influence future product directions
Collaborate with the data engineering and data science teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and availability for analysis
Learn and work with Netflix’ expansive internal tools and platforms.
Building strong relationships with our various cross-functional stakeholders to help unearth data-based solutions to their challenges
Connecting and networking with the wider analytics community at Netflix
Acting as a mentor for more junior team members to aid with their career development and help level up the BI team
Requirements
Extensive experience in a general data analysis language such as SQL and Python/R, with fluency in at least one
Experience with traditional BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, and Periscope
Experience with data modeling, schema design, and designing and building robust data pipelines with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
Experienced in building strong stakeholder relationships and addressing cross-functional challenges
A collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Ability to give and take feedback
Great communication skills in English
Appreciated, but not hard requirements
A degree (BS/MS/PhD) in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) helps us assess your skills. But if you have the skills without a degree in a relevant area, we’d still love to hear from you.
Prior experience with similar work in the game industry
Prior experience with mentoring other team members or leading small teams
Ability to build visualizations using JavaScript / React and frameworks like D3, or an appetite to learn these if no prior experience
Experience with building web apps and frameworks such as Plotly Dash is a plus
