The Content Platform Operations & Publishing (CPOP) team sits at the intersection of AI and machine learning, the consumer experience and the Netflix Studio. We are an integral part of making the Netflix experience feel personal and relevant by developing innovative approaches to how we promote, localize, and distribute our content. Our products impact both our members and the content creators, linguists, editors and executives who make our shows and films possible.
We are seeking a Product Leader to join our team and oversee the products, operations, and editorial teams that scale our catalog and content understanding systems for our content library. This role will lead multiple functions and disciplines including product managers and functional teams (operations, ratings, analyst and editorial teams) focused on automating and scaling areas like ratings, content analysis/signals and content catalog management/taxonomy systems.
This is a high-impact role where you will play a key part in shaping the future of how our product's capabilities for content classification, moderation and understanding scale and bring the most impact to our internal teams and members. You will be responsible for driving the product strategy, approach and innovation to building out innovative long-term solutions with technological solutioning at the forefront in order to enable these capabilities to future scale and significant member impact.
This leader will be a key partner to other product teams, engineering, data science, and functional teams leading these partners towards a long-term vision of how emerging technologies and AI investments will scale the future of how our content is organized and presented to members.
This role is based in our Los Gatos or Los Angeles office in a hybrid model, but we are open to remote candidates who are on the West Coast. Frequent travel to Los Gatos and Los Angeles will be required.
Responsibilities
Inspire a high-performing multi-disciplinary team of product managers, ratings professionals, content analysts, data/catalog experts, and taxonomists to transform and automate how we classify content, assets, and our catalog. Transform products, tools, and workflows that play a critical role in catalog and content understanding and connect our members to our product and content in a meaningful and scalable way.
Build bridges with leaders around the world to establish great collaboration with other product teams, government affairs, engineering, design, and data science.
Balance requests from various stakeholders across the organization and cast them into a forward-thinking and ambitious vision and roadmap for catalog and content understanding innovation and AI investments, driving execution and velocity towards your goals.
Improve the team by attracting, developing and retaining high-performance product managers, operators, and editorial experts who excel within a diverse and inclusive environment and high performance, learning oriented culture.
Qualifications
You have 10+ years of experience leading a product management function at global scale with an emphasis on ML/AI solutions.
You are an exceptionally strong systems thinker able to think deeply about technology and workflows.
You’ve built and maintained strong and effective cross-functional partnerships across different areas of a business to drive toward and accomplish ambitious product goals; experience leading both technical and non-technical functions is a huge plus
You have advanced to intermediate understanding and depth in machine learning & evaluation techniques, especially computer vision methods, and significant experience shipping them via AI powered products; experience with AI technology for B2B2C solutions in a huge plus
You have managed and developed people managers and experienced product managers; you have a passion for people management and mentorship.
You can operate successfully in ambiguous situations, can be flexible and nimble in an evolving space, and has a high level of curiosity.
You are a change agent, with experience and passion for transforming traditional methods of work.
Experience building and innovating on human-in-the-loop workflows and automation products is a plus.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $650,000.00 - $1,500,000.00.
