Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Netflix Technology Services team is dedicated to enhancing the productivity of Netflix employees by offering seamless technology experiences. We’re looking for a versatile, adaptable and experienced senior AV Engineer to join our EMEA team, located in our office in Amsterdam. This role requires a high degree of flexibility, a quick response time, and the ability to independently lead complex initiatives to ensure the smooth running and continual evolution of our services.

As a senior AV Engineer, your primary scope will be within AV Operations, where you'll be responsible for managing and scaling the global conference room AV experience across EMEA and influencing standards globally. In AV Operations, we strive to improve user experience in collaboration, communication and productivity by identifying the AV needs of users, proactively testing new technological solutions, and monitoring/interpreting ticket data to find and reduce friction. We then provide tools, guidance and support to ensure the best experience. We value quick adaptation to new technologies and the ability to implement them swiftly and efficiently.

You will be expected to:

  • Deliver beyond your immediate team, leading strategic technical projects with cross-functional impact across regions.

  • Use deep expertise in AV systems to develop and extend capabilities, improve efficiency, and influence long‑term AV strategies.

  • Be a go-to technical expert for other engineers and partner teams in your domain.

In addition, our AV team aids in the design and construction of meeting spaces throughout our enterprise and studio facilities. We rely on Google Meet with Chromebox for Meetings hardware for the virtual meeting experience, and build solutions to optimize the experience. You’ll be empowered to own and evolve how we optimize the conference room experience for users and partner teams, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in meeting diverse needs, and influencing AV standards, tooling, and processes used across EMEA.

As an AV Operations Engineer, you will:

  • Identify and solve complex, sometimes ambiguous technical problems in AV system design, deployment, and operations.

  • Break down large initiatives into smaller, executable pieces that other engineers and partners can help deliver.

  • Mentor and develop other AV Engineers, helping scale technical excellence across the region.

Strategic Priorities

  • Define and operationalize AV performance metrics, using data-driven insights to inform design standards, vendor strategy, and long-term platform decisions.

  • Collaborate closely with the support team to quickly recognize trends, pinpoint root causes, and refine designs to enhance stability.

  • Install and maintain audio visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems, microphones and speakers.

  • Consult with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and deliver AV requirements, clearly communicating technical tradeoffs and business impact.

  • Create, maintain, and effectively communicate documentation and processes to improve user experience and promote self-service, ensuring they can be adopted and relied on across EMEA.

  • Define and oversee AV asset lifecycle and inventory governance across EMEA, establishing strong organizational discipline and scalable processes.

  • Handle vendor management, particularly with AV Integrators and Managed Service Providers, which includes tracking and escalating issues as necessary, and influencing vendor performance and standards.

  • Act as the site lead to dispatch MSP technicians and foster relationships with key stakeholders, often navigating competing priorities and constraints.

  • Cultivate the partnership with Google to resolve Google Meet issues and introduce features that enhance the user experience, representing AV Operations needs at a strategic level.

  • Refine existing system designs to help create the optimal video conference experience, considering maintenance, scalability and rapid deployment, and decommission solutions when they are no longer in Netflix’s best interest.

  • Provide technical support to other Engineers across various AV domains (Builds, Events, Studio) when required, often as the subject-matter expert for complex or escalated problems.

  • Help with commissioning and handover of all new conference, specialty, studio, and event spaces in the EMEA region, ensuring designs align with global standards while serving local/regional needs.

  • Promote cross-functional partnerships with Netflix teams working in-region, communicating through business impact to influence roadmaps and priorities.

  • Be open to both international and domestic travel.

Skills for Success:

  • Experience supporting and managing vendors in corporate and studio AV environments.

  • Proficiency with Enterprise VC solutions (preferably Google Meet, but also Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence, etc.)—both hardware and software, and administrative fleet management.

  • Experience with AV integration on the integrator and/or corporate side, with a focus on the physical installation.

  • Experience designing and building meeting spaces from the ground up, including acoustics, lighting, and technology, is a plus.

  • Experience operating and supporting live events (corporate, hospitality, or other major event venues).

  • Capability to configure and troubleshoot audio and video equipment in corporate settings or during live events.

  • Understanding of networking technology, video transmission over networks, and audio/video signal flow.

  • Experience working with Crestron equipment, audio DSP’s, and Dante/AES microphone systems.

  • Demonstrated project management experience with large, multi-stakeholder projects, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain and create standards adopted across multiple locations or teams.

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be a self-motivated self-starter capable of implementing ideas, owning work end‑to‑end, and driving initiatives from concept through to adoption.

  • Experience in collaborating with and managing a variety of internal teams, vendors, suppliers, and integrators, including negotiation of SOWs for AV vendors across EMEA and navigating nuanced local law.

  • Experience with financial governance, forecasting, resource (staff) planning, and compliance, consistent with the broader responsibility expected of a senior engineer.

  • Strong organizational skills and familiarity with inventory management protocols.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite tools.
