We're recruiting for an Associate, Production Finance UK Prep/Wrap for a 12-month parental leave. The Production Finance Prep Wrap team at Netflix is responsible for managing production costs throughout early pre-production, post-production and post-launch of each self-managed project. They work with a team of full-time contractors who process costs directly and partner with various stakeholders, including Production Finance, Business and Legal Affairs, Tax, VFX, and Corporate Reporting to ensure compliance with Netflix’s financial standards, UK laws, and government regulations. This role supports the UK slate, as well as any titles that have or are planning production activity in the UK.
Responsibilities
Budget Management & Financial Reporting
Maintain and review production budgets and cost reports throughout early pre-production, post-production and post-launch.
Communicate with Prep Wrap contractors to track financial variances and address discrepancies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Align with Netflix Studio stakeholders to manage production processes and implement cost controls.
Serve as a liaison between Prep Wrap contractors and internal teams, supporting smooth financial workflows.
Guidance & Training
Provide clear guidance to internal and third-party production accounting teams on delivery to Netflix’s reporting requirements, ensuring consistency and accuracy across productions.
Support team members and partners in understanding and implementing new procedures, offering training and resources as workflows and financial processes evolve.
Compliance & Local Financial Regulations
Ensure that all productions comply with UK laws, local production practices, and government regulations.
Maintain knowledge of payroll, tax, banking, and invoicing processes specific to the UK market.
Process Innovation & Improvement
Identify and suggest improvements in financial workflows to support operational efficiency.
Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance production finance processes.
Requirements
Experience
5 or more years of finance experience within the film, TV, production industry, or media sector.
Experience with production workflows and financial processes, including cost reporting and budgeting.
Communication Skills
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work with both internal teams and external partners.
Experience in roles that require a high degree of collaboration and clear communication.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills
Strong aptitude for complex problem-solving and financial analysis.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a changing environment.
Independence & Initiative
Able to work independently, identify team needs, and proactively address workflow gaps.
Experience in roles focused on accuracy, execution, and achieving results.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in financial applications such as Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Cultural Alignment
Demonstrates alignment with Netflix’s culture of curiosity, good judgment, and integrity.
Familiarity with Netflix’s core documents, including the Culture Memo, Strategy Bets, and Entertain the World.
Nice-to-Have
Affinity for technology, with an interest in system development.
Experience with Production Accounting systems such as PSL, Smart, Eclipse, or Moneypenny.
