The Department Assistant team ensures continuity for our leaders when their permanent assistants are unavailable, whether due to vacation, transitions, or unexpected circumstances. Fluent in Netflix’s culture and ways of working, we integrate quickly, with clear expectations and support, and keep operations steady so leaders can stay focused on what matters most.

You’ll oversee the flow of coverage requests across the region and ensure assignments are managed with clarity, timeliness, and excellent judgment. You’ll match the right assistant to the right coverage, enable smooth communication with stakeholders, and partner with the Service Delivery Manager to evolve how our team operates. You’ll help shape a high-trust model that scales, improves, and continually raises the bar on service delivery.

This role calls for someone who is comfortable in rapidly changing environments, demonstrates exceptional judgment, and balances structure with adaptability. You’re a proactive problem-solver who builds strong relationships, navigates ambiguity with ease, and brings both precision and calm to scheduling challenges.

What you’ll do

  • Take on low to medium volume coverage assignments, supporting leadership across the EMEA region

  • Own the end-to-end coordination of coverage requests, ensuring efficient scheduling and operational continuity

  • Produce monthly and quarterly reports for leadership, translating data into actionable insights that support informed decision-making and organizational health.

  • Anticipate capacity gaps and plan proactively to keep the team balanced and ready

  • Coach and mentor Department Assistants with an “always better” mindset, promoting ownership, growth, and continuous improvement

  • Foster strong communication and collaboration across the team, ensuring transparency and alignment at every stage

  • Partner with the Service Delivery Manager to plan, hire and lead onboarding for new team members, setting them up for success from day one

  • Support the ongoing development and evolution of team operations, driving efficiency, consistency, and excellence in service delivery

What you’ll bring

  • 5 or more years of experience in an assistant role, with experience in environments where priorities can shift quickly.

  • People management and leadership experience

  • Exceptional written and effective communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with our executives and across all levels and functions

  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and making sound decisions when timelines and information change.

  • A high level of self-awareness, discretion, and maturity in interactions across the organization.

  • Strong problem solving skills, you ask the right questions, use the right resources, and find the best path forward

  • Confident user of Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Slides)
