We build foundational datasets and data products that power critical business operations, financial reporting, and strategic analytics. As Netflix expands its business with new initiatives like Ads, Live events, and Bundles, the need for robust, scalable, and insightful revenue data has never been greater.

The Revenue Growth Data Engineering team is part of the Membership and Finance Data Engineering team. It is the engine that powers insights into Netflix's financial growth. It optimizes all data related to incoming revenue streams, including subject areas such as billing, invoicing, revenue, tax, and member engagement and retention. This team’s work is foundational for financial assurance, forecasting, experimentation, and strategic decision-making, which directly impact Netflix's growth trajectory.

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Revenue Growth Data Engineering team at Netflix. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and data products that power insights into revenue growth and member retention analysis, while contributing to foundational datasets and metrics critical to Netflix’s financial and business reporting.

Your work will directly influence how financial and growth data is produced, trusted, and consumed by teams across Finance, Product, and Analytics. You will help ensure that our data is accurate, performant, intuitive, and easy to use, enabling better decisions and deeper insights into Netflix's growth drivers.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient data pipelines using Spark, Presto, and SQL, with a focus on revenue and member retention data.

  • Develop high-quality ETL workflows to ingest, transform, and aggregate data from multiple upstream sources.

  • Partner closely with data analysts, finance partners, and product teams to understand business needs and deliver reliable, well-modeled data products.

  • Design and evolve data models that accurately represent financial entities, member behavior, and key growth metrics.

  • Champion data quality and trust by implementing checks, validations, and monitoring to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Contribute to improving our data engineering best practices, tooling, and documentation as the platform evolves.

Who We’re Looking For

  • 3–4+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines in a production environment.

  • Hands-on experience with distributed data processing technologies such as Spark and query engines like Presto.

  • You strive to write elegant code, and you're comfortable with picking up new technologies

  • Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g. Java, Scala, Python) and comfortable working with advanced SQL.

  • Solid understanding of ETL design, data modeling, and data architecture fundamentals.

  • Strong data intuition where you naturally question data, understand edge cases, and care about usability and correctness.

  • A passion for data trustworthiness and building systems that produce accurate, consistent, and transparent financial data.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and communicate technical concepts clearly.

  • A mindset of ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning.
