The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly driven, hands-on Ranch Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations at Sendero Ranch. This role is responsible for ensuring the ranch delivers a best-in-class hospitality and learning environment for Netflix’s leadership programs, team offsites, and other internal gatherings. You will lead the on-site team, planning team, and vendor partners, manage the operational rhythm of the ranch, and ensure that every touchpoint—from arrival and lodging to food & beverage, activities, and departure—reflects Netflix’s standards of excellence.

Who is this Position For?

You enjoy building and refining systems, collaborating across functions, and solving operational challenges with a curious, service-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate has deep experience in hospitality, venue or retreat operations, and vendor management, is comfortable operating in a remote, rural environment, and is energized by creating a seamless, high-touch experience for senior leaders. You are an organized and detail-oriented leader, able to partner effectively with a variety of cross-functional colleagues and vendors, and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves. Netflix is a fast-paced and demanding company that requires a driven individual who is able to exercise good judgment, take initiative, and provide a high level of customer service. You’ll also be part of our unique culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Ranch & Program Operations

  • Lead day-to-day operations at Sendero Ranch to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for all guests and programs.

  • Partner closely with Leadership Programs, Corporate Events, Security & Safety, EHS, and other cross-functional teams to plan and execute multi-day leadership retreats and other events.

  • Oversee logistics for ranch programs, including travel coordination, transportation, room assignments, activities, and operational agendas.

  • Develop, maintain, and iterate operational playbooks for ranch operations, including event and venue operations, front desk/guest services, janitorial, and food & beverage.

  • Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, troubleshooting challenges in real time to protect the guest experience.

Team & Vendor Leadership

  • Lead and develop a hybrid team of on-site staff, remote planners, and third-party providers to deliver best-in-class hospitality and service.

  • Set clear expectations and standards for service, communication, and collaboration across all on-site roles.

  • Manage key vendor relationships (e.g., housekeeping, F&B, transportation, maintenance, activities), including performance, service levels, and alignment with Netflix culture.

  • Partner with UCAN Venues leadership on staffing models and vendor strategy to ensure the right mix of in-house and outsourced support.

  • Guest Experience & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a primary on-site point of contact for Leadership Programs and other internal partners, ensuring operational plans align with program goals.

  • Build strong relationships with Netflix business leaders and program facilitators to understand their needs and translate them into operational solutions.

  • Communicate Sendero Ranch’s mission, capabilities, and operational updates to stakeholders through timely, relevant, and tailored communication.

  • Champion a high-touch, personalized guest experience that reflects Netflix’s culture and values.

Facilities, Safety & Sustainability

  • Oversee the day-to-day condition and readiness of ranch facilities, including lodging, meeting spaces, outdoor areas, and support spaces.

  • Coordinate with internal partners and vendors on maintenance, repairs, and seasonal readiness to ensure the ranch operates effectively in a remote and seasonally challenging environment.

  • Ensure operations comply with local regulations and internal standards related to safety, security, and environmental health.

  • Support and implement sustainability practices that reduce environmental impact and move the ranch toward a more carbon-neutral footprint.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Manage operational budgets for Sendero Ranch in partnership with UCAN Venues leadership, including forecasting, tracking, and identifying efficiencies.

  • Oversee procurement, invoicing, and contract management for ranch operations and vendor services.

  • Review vendor financial performance and propose ideas for improved efficiency, value, and service quality.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, including maintenance logs, vendor agreements, and program-related data.

Culture, Inclusion & Community

  • Lead mindfully with respect to inclusion and diversity, ensuring that vendor onboarding, hiring, and day-to-day operations reflect Netflix’s values.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and service-oriented culture among on-site staff and vendors.

  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with the local community and suppliers to support strong local partnerships and resilient supply chains.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in hospitality, retreat/venue operations, or event operations, with increasing responsibility; experience in a remote or unique environment is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing vendors, ideally in a hybrid model of full-time staff and third-party providers.

  • Experience with facility operations and maintenance coordination, including in seasonally challenging conditions.

  • Proven ability to plan and execute complex, multi-day programs or events, ideally for executive or high-touch audiences.

  • Experience developing and managing operational budgets, including tracking spend and identifying efficiencies.

  • Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization and with diverse stakeholders.

  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment; able to think strategically while remaining highly hands-on.

  • Positive, team-oriented, and client-focused approach; willing to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details.

  • Proficient with Google Workspace; experience with other hospitality or operations systems is a plus.

  • Ability to live and work in a remote, rural environment and to work a flexible schedule based on program needs, including evenings and some weekends.
