Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

We are looking for a Social Media Manager to join the Netflix Nordic Social Marketing team to run our brand channels across the Nordics. This role reports to the Senior Social Marketing Manager and is based in Stockholm, Sweden.

In this role, you will set the strategic direction for our brand channels where we have multiple campaigns running alongside the day-to-day reactive content that keeps our communities engaged. Your primary goal is to consistently increase audience engagement and drive both audience and channel growth, ensuring our channels remain vibrant, healthy spaces to promote all areas of the Netflix business. You are passionate about sparking conversation– experimenting with new formats and features, understanding what makes fans tick - and what ticks them off - and creating content that fuels the fire of Netflix fandoms.

You will ensure that all content is optimised for each platform, applying both practical considerations and best practices.
You are responsible for the smooth running of our channels, ensuring the right content is posted to the right channels and reaches its intended audience. In this, you will work closely with our agency partners, leading them in the daily operations and collaborating to quickly develop reactive content that responds to local trends and taps into what our fanbases love about the latest Netflix hit. You will be deeply embedded in these fandoms, understanding them inside and out.

We are seeking a highly driven, self-motivated individual who demonstrates strong passion for TV and films. You are organised, an excellent communicator, and bring a blend of strategic, analytical and creative thinking. You are always learning, testing new ideas and comfortable scrutinising your own ideas–always the first to ask, “How could this have been better?” You thrive on innovation, are unafraid to change what’s not working, and are energized by big, creative swings. Above all, you have a strong instinct for social-first creative, deep platform knowledge, and the passion, energy, and ambition to bring great ideas to life.

At Netflix Nordic, you’ll join a creative, fast-paced, and innovative team shaping conversations around some of the world’s most beloved stories. If you’re ready to help us build the next chapter of Netflix fandom in the Nordics, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run our brand channels in the Nordics–currently 9 in total across TikTok, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram, with a mix of English, Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish language channels. This includes setting the strategy, aligning with broader business objectives, and managing the publishing schedule for each of the channels.

  • Co-lead the launch and strategy for any new channels/platforms as opportunities arise.

  • Co-manage the relationships with our retained social agencies, including setting context, briefing them, and providing real-time feeding on reactive creative assets.

  • Act as a creative partner to the Social Lead on Social Title Campaigns, supporting the review and refinement of creative ideas and edits for campaign assets that will run on Netflix brand channels.

  • Support cross-functional Marketing teams and any activations and events (i.e. Kristallen Awards) ensuring these are optimised for engaging coverage on our brand channels.

  • Share your insights and expertise about our channels and audiences with cross-functional teams; act as the go-to expert on platforms and audience behaviours.

  • Be a relentless champion of audience growth. Share your wins and fails, always seeking to maximise engagement and brand love.

  • Lead social campaign efforts for a variety of titles.

  • Keep a particularly close eye on international titles that don’t have planned local marketing support. Sometimes under-the-radar titles pop unexpectedly, and we need to pivot at speed.

  • Try new things. Use the features of the platforms or habits of the audiences to create bold, exciting moments.

  • Stay alert to social trends, with consideration for how we stay industry leading in our approach to social media. Proactively identifying opportunities for fan engagement across platforms and the broader internet.

Background and skills:

  • 5+ years experience running social channels directly for a brand or publisher, or in an agency role.

  • 5+ years experience in community management and audience development.

  • A strong eye for creative in all forms, and an understanding of what resonates with online audiences–what makes them laugh, cry, debate, and share.

  • Passion for entertainment.

  • Deep understanding of internet culture, and the distinct demands of different social platforms.

  • Proven ability to blend data and intuition to create content that capture attention and drives engagement; solid grasp of marketing and social media analytics.

  • In-depth knowledge of local culture and consumer behaviour across the Nordic region.

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Experience leading and collaborating closely with agency teams and creative partners.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one Nordic language (Danish, Norwegian or Swedish).

  • Experience in Influencer Marketing and working with creators, bringing a fresh approach to collaborations, is a plus.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, confidently advocate for your ideas and sell your vision.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • A spirit of curiosity and a keen interest in what other brands and publishers are doing in the social space.

  • Alignment with and enthusiasm for the Netflix culture.

Please note: Due to the holiday season, we will resume the recruitment process and provide updates on this role in the new year (2026). Thank you for your understanding and patience.
