The Team: The Commerce Product Management team is responsible for making it easy for anyone around the world to join and stay a Netflix member, driving global membership growth and monetization. This includes the end-to-end membership lifecycle, from acquisition to retention, including plans and tiers, pricing, identity and household sharing, payments, and partner integrations. Our work spans all platforms (TV/living room, mobile, tablet, and web) and in 190+ countries.

The Role: In this role, you will take full responsibility for the Plans and Pricing goals and strategy. For Plans, you will define and build the set of plans for members to best meet their needs, ensuring we cover a wide range of willingness to pay and delivering differentiating value. For Pricing, you will own the pricing decision, execution, and long-term strategy of our pricing at the global and local level. These are our biggest business levers that impact Netflix’s membership experience and revenue growth.

What will you do?

  • Establish pricing recommendations for each country, plan, product or service based on membership and revenue impacts.

  • Lead a nimble team of stunning colleagues across Finance, Strategy Planning & Analysis, Data Science, and Consumer Insights to design and orchestrate a learning agenda around consumer willingness to pay and price elasticity.

  • Drive price change planning, with a cross functional team that includes Product, Design, Finance, Data Science, Comms.

  • Develop the strategy for plan tiering and evolution (features, windowing/catalog, spreads, add-ons), along with the right positioning (in partnership with the product marketing team) that takes into account consumer demand, revenue growth, and other factors.

  • Lead discussions with senior executives and regional leadership teams regarding local plans and pricing decisions and forward-looking strategy.

  • Define and build product and user experience features for plans and pricing changes.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company-wide initiatives that would affect plans and pricing decisions.

  • Manage a team of Product Managers focused on the plans and pricing.

  • Think broadly about the Netflix business and contribute to efforts beyond your domain.

This role is based in our Los Gatos office (preferred) in a hybrid model, but we are open to remote candidates who are on the West Coast. Travel to Los Gatos will be required if remote-based.

What are we looking for?

  • 10+ years of experience working in strategy, product, consulting (or combination of the above) focused on monetization strategy.

  • In-depth experience with how companies should tier, package, and structure their commercial offerings, and proven record of prioritizing and driving large-scale monetization programs and initiatives.

  • Worked in a direct-to-consumer business, preferably with global scope where the consumer is paying for the service.

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior/preferences, across econ/finance and marketing disciplines.

  • Passion for Growth, Plans/Packaging, and/or Behavioral Economics.

  • Strong instincts for outstanding customer experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership working effectively with designers, data scientists, engineers, researchers, and colleagues across content, communications, and marketing.

  • Effective communication to senior executives.Your ability to build strong relationships is critical to success.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you will write a lot!

  • Direct experience leading and managing product managers.

  • Experience working in an organizational structure with both vertical and horizontal teams where ownership of a capability cuts across multiple teams.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $430,000 - $1,000,000.
