We are seeking a Media Manager to help us build outstanding advertising campaigns in the DACH region for our titles and brand. Netflix has been creating creative campaigns in DACH for over 10 years, and we’re looking for someone to help scale our priority campaigns within media.
This role will collaborate closely with our marketing title leads to ensure our campaigns deliver innovation, operational excellence, and efficiency at scale, while remaining impactful and focused where needed. The Media Manager will be responsible for media strategy, media planning (in partnership with our agency), and supporting those executing creative delivery.
You will develop best practices within both our media agency relationships and in-channel approaches that connect to our overall marketing strategy. You will maintain relationships with key media partners, build learning agendas, and help the team stay informed about the evolving DACH media market.
This position involves a high degree of consultation and partnership, requiring the ability to build scaled strategies while also balancing the need to tailor campaigns and learnings to local market priorities.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the title marketing team on media strategy, budget planning, and goal setting to develop clear and inspiring briefs
Evaluate media plans provided by our agency, in line with the brief and the wider business context and advise title managers on your recommendations
Work closely with production managers and title managers to ensure they’re delivering outstanding creative, in line with their vision.
Develop an audience-first approach, balancing the needs of individual launches with our overall market presence
Develop efficient buying strategies such as annual deals with regularly used media partners and manage their roll out
Inspire internal, media agency and creative agency teams through your creative or innovative media ideas
Maintain relationships with key media partners to ensure we leverage their products in the best manner. This may also involve working with cross-functional partners such as our advertising team, partner marketing and publicity, who may have overlapping points of contact and business goals
Work very closely with our paid social internal teams and agency to ensure you act in an advisory role to title teams on creative best practices, helping them produce brilliant creative
Provide feedback to marketing planning teams on tooling needs for campaign planning and execution efficiency
Share interesting learnings across the DACH marketing team and with other country teams
Qualifications
8+ years managing and developing strategy for paid media campaigns in a media specialism in house or within a media agency
Expertise in Germany is a must, Austria and Switzerland are a plus
Well versed in all media channels. Including the latest developments in fast developing areas such as connected TV and social media
Experience with upper funnel campaign strategies and evaluating success
Experience managing media campaigns of +1M as well as highly targeted contextually-rich planning
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders
Experience building solutions in a startup or scale-up environment, and an openness to new and untested approaches
Entertainment industry experience is a plus
