Job Summary:

Are you an Effects Artist with a creative passion to define high quality looks for animated features? Do you enjoy solving technical and creative problems within Houdini? We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Effects Artists to create high-quality visual effects for our upcoming animated feature films.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and create a range of visually interesting and high quality effects.

  • Collaborate closely with other team members and departments, and work with your FX supervisor to produce effects and shots.

  • Utilize the powerful tools available in Houdini and from the Netflix Animation Studio pipeline to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Use your problem solving skills to fix issues and solve creative challenges.

  • Collaborate with grace, humility, inclusion, and open-mindedness.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience as an Effects Artist in animation or visual effects.

  • Proficiency in Houdini.

  • Strong understanding of particle systems, dynamics, and simulations.

  • Excellent artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • A portfolio showcasing your FX work in animation or related fields.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and e-social communication skills.

This role is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hybrid Role (Minimum of 3 days a week in the office).

At NAS, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The overall market range for this role is typically $105K - 142K CAD. This reflects total compensation; we do not have stock options.
