Our Data Platform team provides centralized data platforms and tools for various business functions at Netflix, so they can utilize our data to make critical data-driven decisions. We do all the heavy lifting to make it easy for our business partners to work with data efficiently, securely, and responsibly. As the Data Platform charter grows, we are looking to expand our footprint to Poland to increase our velocity. We are looking for three Engineering Managers to help evolve and innovate our Product and Infrastructure. Hiring across the following teams:

Engineering Manager, Data Platform Product Enhancement Team

This team will be responsible for building strategic user-facing products for the Netflix Data Platform serving various business-critical needs. Their immediate focus will be owning, building and operating batch data connectors supporting the Data Movement needs across Netflix. These connectors will be integrated with our paved path flagship product, Data Bridge offering users a consolidated managed data movement platform. In the future, this team will partner with other Data Platform product domains to enhance their offerings in real-time connectors, search infra for data discovery, product metrics instrumentation, etc. Distributed Systems experience or Data Platform domain experience, such as experience in Cassandra, Elastic Search, Spark, Iceberg, Kafka, or Flink, are desirable.

Engineering Manager, Online Data Stores Infrastructure Team

This team will focus on taking end-to-end ownership of the internal data platform products, including ZooKeeper, one of the critical infrastructure products in our suite, ensuring its continued reliability, scalability and evolution. Over time, this team will expand its charter to more datastores, and to drive broader infrastructure initiatives. This expansion reinforces our mission to boost Netflix engineers’ productivity and innovation by providing a robust, efficient, and secure data platform, while fostering close collaboration between data platform teams to deliver greater organizational throughput and agility. Distributed Systems experience or Data Platform domain experience, such as experience in Cassandra, Elastic Search, Spark, Iceberg, Kafka, or Flink, are desirable.

Engineering Manager, Data Discovery and Experience UI Team

This team will be responsible for a mission-critical initiative focused on accelerating innovation by drastically improving the user interface (UI) and technical health of our core data platform. The focus area is to modernize the entire front-end technology stack, leading the revamp of major internal applications and tooling, including Mantis, Raven, Maestro and other major solutions onto a unified, paved-path architecture. This team will also drive technical health initiatives and partner closely with backend teams to ensure seamless platform integration, transforming the platform into a modern, scalable, and high-performing developer experience. Understanding of modern front end technologies such as React, JavaScript/Typescript or Node.js for this role is desirable.

What you will do:

• You will lead a team of stunning colleagues in designing and building organization wide data platform components to enable faster product development and self-service access to critical data resources

• Partner with the domain infrastructure teams to deliver the infrastructure and tooling for strategic products

• Form trusting cross-functional partnerships across Data Platform to align many engineering teams and ensure their infrastructure and tooling needs are met

• Build, scale, and grow a team of outstanding engineers, challenge them to bring their best selves to work every day, and deliver industry-leading results in enabling stable, performant, and efficient services

What we are looking for:

• An experienced engineering leader who can drive a team of amazing engineers to do their best work while building and maintaining strong partnerships with peers and stakeholders

• Ability to dive deep as needed to facilitate technical strategy trade-offs and zoom out to understand the big picture to shape the product

• Experience building and running internal platform products for extremely reliable platform systems supporting high-scale and critical workloads

• Bring rigor to decision-making and drive down ambiguity with the right mix of collecting data, seeking input, farming for dissent, and making pilot investments to build understanding or confirm direction

• Proven track record helping a team deliver timely results on critical priorities against many demands for their time, and partnering with leadership to influence the right areas for investment

• Experience building and leading software engineering teams with a focus on inclusion and diversity, ensuring that we can attract and retain the best talent from anywhere and that all voices are heard to inform our direction
