About the Role:
We’re looking for a Comms Manager to work in our Comms team in Italy. Based in Rome, you will report to the Director of Communications, Italy.
The Comms Manager will be responsible for devising and delivering high-impact communication campaigns and strategies that support and reinforce our brand and our reputation across Italy. You will work closely with the Director of Communications, Italy, to manage our key press relationships across the country and move our local, regional and global comms narratives forward. You will manage comms initiatives, interviews and speaking opportunities on a variety of topics - from ads to product; from policy to content and more -.
You can skilfully and thoughtfully craft narratives that highlight our broader contribution, boil down complex concepts into succinct pitches, and successfully work with journalists, influencers and key opinion formers across broadcast, print, online and radio in the trade, consumer, ads and business space. You will also have a deep understanding of issues, ability to handle crises and will have worked alongside and managed agencies on projects.
You are able to remain calm under pressure, make wise decisions and think strategically at all times while having a hands-on mentality. You will collaborate well with internal partners from ads, public policy, content, publicity, marketing, product and more.
As the successful candidate, you will:
Have a minimum 8-10 years of experience working in Corporate Communications and PR, some of which would ideally have been spent in an entertainment/media setting.
Have a good understanding of the Italian media landscape and the confidence to build and cultivate relationships with key journalists (entertainment, business, trade, ads etc.), social media influencers, key opinion formers, third parties etc.
Have experience managing ads and B2B communication
Be familiar and make use of social media channels, especially LinkedIn
Have solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under deadline and thrive in a very high energy, fast-paced environment
Be able to identify, develop and help come up with outside the box creative ideas
Be able to think strategically and make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity
Have excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Italian and be able to communicate effectively and succinctly with internal and external teams.
Be able and willing to think on an international level
Have a love of entertainment and storytelling
Be curious and eager to learn, have sound judgment, and be unafraid to challenge prevailing assumptions
Be nimble and objective in assessing your work, be willing to admit mistakes quickly, and to give and receive constructive feedback
