Product Development Designer, Consumer Products - Mexico City, MX

About the role.

We are expanding into consumer products and experiences to create deeper connections with our most popular content. Our goal is to turn titles into iconic brands and franchises, keeping them at the center of culture for longer.

As a Product Development Designer, you will be at the intersection of creativity and strategy, leading the design and development of consumer products inspired by Netflix’s beloved titles. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure our products are innovative, on-brand, and culturally relevant — for LATAM markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Creative Product Development: Drive the design and execution of Netflix-branded consumer products, ensuring creative excellence and brand consistency.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align on brand/commercial strategies and product vision.

  • Partner with External Teams: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with external partners, licensees, and manufacturers to deliver high-quality products.

  • Trend Research: Stay up to date with style, design and consumer trends in the fashion category, bringing fresh, innovative ideas to the table.

  • Product Approval Process: Manage the product approval process, ensuring all submissions—from concept to production—meet Netflix standards in a fast pace environment.

  • Design Execution: Utilize design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite) to create and review product concepts, packaging, and presentations.

  • Problem Solving: Proactively troubleshoot design and development challenges, finding resourceful and creative solutions.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 8+ years in design and/or product development within the consumer products industry—preferably in the entertainment space. Knowledge and understanding of product development within fashion and home categories.

  • Creative Instincts: Ability to distill stakeholder feedback into actionable creative improvements; strong eye for detail and innovation.

  • Design Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite; strong portfolio demonstrating creative product design.

  • Collaboration: Experience working with diverse internal and external teams; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal and able to provide clear direction.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Initiative: Self-starter with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a passion for creativity and teamwork.

  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Portuguese is a significant advantage, as this skill is a key differentiator in our multicultural work environment.
