About the role.
We are looking for a temporary Social Marketing Manager to join the Netflix Social team based out of Mexico City for 6 months to up to a year, to run our title campaigns and contribute to the creativity and programming of all of our @NetflixLat channels across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube and more.
With new titles launching every day and multiple launch campaigns running concurrently, Social Marketing Managers are responsible for leading the social strategy and social creativity for our titles and optimising these strategies for each platform. Their primary goal is to drive conversation around titles with top-notch creativity, increase audience engagement and growth while ensuring our channels remain healthy spaces to promote all areas of the Netflix business. They’re also responsible for the smooth operation of our channels, acting as air traffic control, making sure the right content is posted to the right channels to reach the target audience.
Social Marketing Managers lead our social agency, creating fast-turnaround, reactive content. That is a mix of reacting to external trends and responding to what we know fanbases are loving about the latest Netflix hit. They’re embedded in those fandoms and know them inside and out. Their goals are to fuel fandoms and grow our social media footprint by tapping into fan insights, testing new formats and features, amplifying broader marketing initiatives and partnering with content creators and influencers on outstanding creative ideas.
Social managers are responsible for live event coverage, whether that’s on-site capture at a physical event or a premiere, or virtual clipping for the latest LIVE event.
We are seeking a highly driven, self-motivated person who lives & breathes entertainment. A person who is creative, organised and an excellent communicator. A professional who is always learning and testing new ideas, excited to propose bold executions and feels energized in a very high-paced environment. Above all, we are looking for a professional with a strong instinct for good social creative, strong social media platform knowledge, and the passion, energy, and ambition to see it all through.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead title social marketing campaigns, aligned with the market goals and priorities. This entails crafting the social strategy for such campaigns, partnering with and aligning the title marketing, PR, and product teams on a cohesive plan, briefing the social media agency, leading the creative process and output of such campaigns, and reporting on learnings and results from all efforts.
Asset calendarization for each platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok), guiding and briefing platform-specific approaches to gain impact at scale and managing the agency in its execution.
Approve the creatives and copy of all our assets posted online, exercising amazing judgment and criteria to lean into smart risks.
Collaborating and amplifying title marketing and PR initiatives to maximise the impact of our titles.
Lead reactive workflows so that Netflix is always ahead of the conversation, owning our voice, setting up our narratives and influencing the entertainment landscape in the country and regionally.
Brief external stakeholders, including agencies, freelancers, and production companies, ensuring they achieve creative excellence and meet tight deadlines on time.
Supervise community management, ensuring our creative standards are met, and provide relevant, timely feedback and information to external stakeholders, including agencies and freelancers.
Ensure the external team works at a timely pace, with a reactive approach to stay relevant in the social conversation.
Challenge the “status quo” of each platform, so that our content is even more nuanced, innovative and stimulating.
Be experimental with your content, take risks, and strive to be ambitious and original.
Build and manage budgets to drive efficiency and scale impact.
Manage cross-functional relationships with content partners, PR, events, PAVs, aligning on strategic goals, specific title-led projects and brand initiatives.
Background & desired skills:
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in leading and growing multiple social platforms, managing social marketing campaigns, and delivering insight-based social strategies.
Strong creative instincts. A person who identifies and promotes good social creativity, who is passionate about ideating campaigns and excels at directing and managing the creativity that comes from our partners.
A strong passion for and deep knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and current social conversations.
Experienced in developing cutting-edge organic and paid social creatives. Intentional about setting goals for each piece of content, driving impressions and engagement for maximum impact.
Keen and able to develop both excellent creative content and high-level strategies.
Deep knowledge of the Mexican social media landscape, its audiences, and the creator ecosystem.
Skilled at using data and intuition to create content that grabs attention and engages audiences. Strong in social media analytics, but not afraid to take big risks.
Highly collaborative and confident when working with talent. Able to direct during social productions to ensure the vision is brought to life with the highest outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
Experienced in managing agencies and other creative producers.
Able to prioritise and handle several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Able to build strong relationships, work across many internal cross-functional teams, and both give and receive constructive feedback.
