The Opportunity

The Netflix Marketing Legal team is seeking a curious, talented and experienced manager to join a group of attorneys, contract managers and coordinators who support the marketing and publicity teams across Netflix films and series. This manager will join our growing MACC Legal team (the Marketing Legal team is part of a larger Marketing, Advertising and Consumer Products and Experiences team).

This role is based in Los Angeles and reports to the Director of Marketing Legal UCAN. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, demonstrates initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and a proactive, independent work style are essential, as you will support a multitude of initiatives and drive impactful results under tight deadlines. You will work collaboratively with Netflix marketing and publicity teams, as well as cross-functional legal and business teams. If you are inspired by new challenges and the unique culture at Netflix, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on rights and restrictions.

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts (including marketing, promotion, and production-related agreements such as MSAs/SOWs, PSAs, participant releases, talent/influencer agreements, event/venue agreements, licensing and promotion agreements).

  • Conducting campaign activation and creative review (including risk assessments and clearances).

  • Preparing memos/guidance documents.

  • Conducting trainings as necessary to help increase legal acumen across teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a paralegal, contracts manager or equivalent. Lawyers may apply, but this is not a Counsel position. In-house experience at a studio/entertainment company or advertising/creative agency is a plus.

  • Experience in negotiating and drafting various marketing and content production related agreements (e.g., non-disclosure agreements, agency master services agreements, statements of work, co-promotional and licensing agreements, talent/influencer agreements, and production-related agreements [e.g., production services agreements, appearance releases, location agreements, materials releases]).

  • Experience reviewing and providing guidance on marketing activations, promotions, talent and influencer agreements, creative review, clearance and rights analysis, credit and guild issues, intellectual property and clearance issues associated with marketing materials for all media, including digital and social media.

  • Ability to work autonomously and reliably within tight timeframes in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to exercise sound judgment in the absence of perfect information.

  • Ability to take initiative to identify and solve problems in a business-friendly and solutions-oriented manner.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

  • Flexibility to work across various projects and teams.
