Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

As Netflix, our global membership and new entertainment formats grow, our localization technology needs to evolve too. We’re investing in AI-assisted workflows and intuitive creator tools that help scale the creative process while maintaining the heart of storytelling.

Context

This role sits within Enterprise XD, on the Localization Technology team in Content Promotion and Distribution (CPD). We design and build the tools that power the localization process at Netflix—helping creators and partners around the world bring stories to audiences in every language. You’ll collaborate with PMs, engineers, and data scientists to shape tools that combine human creativity with machine intelligence.

Our Team vision

Make experiencing Netflix feel immersive and meaningful, no matter what language you speak.

The Role

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer who can think strategically, design holistically, and bring structure to ambiguous spaces. You’ll lead design across multiple initiatives within Localization Technology – setting out a vision for how our tools should look, feel, and work for creators and operators around the world. Partnering closely with PMs, engineers, and data scientists, you’ll design AI-driven experiences that help creators localize content faster without losing nuance or quality.

This is a senior, highly visible role that combines hands-on design with cross-functional influence. You’ll connect dots across the business, mentor other designers, and shape both the Hawkins Design System and the broader Enterprise XD strategy to deliver quality and innovation at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Embed within key authoring initiatives and/or horizontal initiatives to ensure strong system alignment.

  • Own and define the long-term vision and strategy for scaled localization workflows, ensuring we meet our evolving organizational needs.

  • Bring clarity and structure to complex, cross-functional problem spaces.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional leadership to influence roadmaps.

  • Create end-to-end experiences – from concept sketches and prototypes to polished, production-ready designs.

  • Collaborate across Enterprise XD and other product areas to ensure consistent, scalable design solutions.

  • Facilitate collaborative design sessions that bring teams together around shared goals.

  • Inspire, mentor and support designers through feedback, critique, and knowledge sharing.

  • Develop scalable adoption strategies to support the rollout of major changes and new versions of the Hawkins Core libraries across teams.

  • Establish and manage system patterns and user experiences to bring alignment across Localization tooling.

Qualifications

At Netflix, all roles are expected to exemplify the values outlined in our culture. Below are some specific behaviors, experiences, and skills to be successful in this role.

  • 10+ years of experience designing enterprise, creator, or workflow tools.

  • Expertise in systems thinking and evolving scalable design systems.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems, with a strategic mindset for solving large-scale challenges.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills – ability to align stakeholders and influence decision-making.

  • Strong advocate for accessibility and inclusive design.

  • Experienced design leader, recognized as a trusted partner and mentor who aligns teams and drives clarity across initiatives.

  • Mastery of Figma’s advanced features such as Autolayout, Variables, DevMode, Responsive Prototypes, etc;

  • Deep experience designing AI- and data-informed workflows, partnering with data science and machine learning teams to shape user- centered algorithms.
