THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist with significant proven experience in facilities EHS - experience in the film & entertainment industry is desirable - Demonstrating good judgment and courage in decision-making within a high-performance culture.

The successful candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a diverse workload within a challenging workspace. A strong understanding of workflows and best practices in EHS is essential for this role, along with the ability to adapt traditional EHS approaches to Netflix's unique studio environment.

Crucially, the candidate must hold EHS accreditation and qualifications in Spain, ensuring legal compliance while also understanding and implementing creative solutions. They will be a strong support for EHS compliance and risk management, assisting cross-functional partners.

THE ROLE

The EHS Specialist will support the Senior Manager, Operations in all aspects of facility EHS, including fire safety and landlord/vendor liaison, providing hands-on service at the studio.

A key focus of this role is to ensure high standards of internal and external EHS and fire safety compliance are consistently maintained. This includes delivering consistent service levels to ensure creative teams can work in a safe environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and enhance a studio safety culture.

  • Customize, integrate and implement strategies, policies, procedures, and training to maintain high standards of EHS and Fire safety in the working environment and safe practices relative to employees, occupiers and visitors to our Studio premises.

  • Conduct regular safety tours and audits at the studio to highlight any areas of concern or room for improvement. Identify potential hazards in the Studio through inspections, audits, and risk assessments, and develop strategies to minimize risks. Report all findings to the Senior Manager, Operations with recommendations to resolve them.

  • Ensure that Netflix complies with local environmental regulations, including waste management, air and water quality, hazardous materials handling, and pollution prevention.

  • Support the development, implementation and rehearsal of emergency response and crisis management plans.

  • Respond to, and investigate emergencies, incidents, and accidents. Manage incident investigations to determine and implement root cause corrective actions.

  • Manage hot work processes for both production and vendors (directly engaged by Netflix) at the studio.

  • Strength and maintain collaborative external partnerships with local fire authorities, EHS and third-party vendors.

  • Collaborate with management to integrate sustainability efforts, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, etc, into Netflix’s studio operations.

  • Work closely with Netflix Security & Safety teams to provide our productions with a safe working environment and that safe working practices are upheld.

  • Support our partners by reviewing planned preventative maintenance and upkeep schedules across the studio where EHS is concerned, as well as with any site upgrades or reactive maintenance needs either landlord or Netflix initiated.

  • Any other duties considered appropriate and in the best interest of Netflix.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Substantial years of EHS and Fire safety experience.

  • Must hold “Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales” certification in accordance with Spanish regulations (Ley 31/1995).

  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English is a must

  • Positive, team-oriented, hands-on, adaptive, and client-focused attitude.

  • Effective at collaborating cross-functionally and with all levels of management.

  • Capable of adapting to and leaning in to risk independently with a self-starter mentality and drive results in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Understanding of the entertainment industry, especially Films & TV would be advantageous.

  • Experience working with EHS Management software and common report tools

  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, GMail, MS Word and MS Excel.
