About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director, Finance Center of Excellence to lead our rapidly growing Center of Excellence (CoE) Finance team in Manila. This pivotal role will oversee several critical finance operations teams including Accounts Payable, Procurement Operations, Credit and Collections, General Ledger, Supplier Operations, Statutory Reporting, and Payroll.
As the on-site leader, you will be the central figure for our Manila teams, providing day-to-day guidance, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, and serving as their advocate within our global organization. You will play a key role in ensuring the CoE delivers on the operational priorities established by our global functional leaders, while also supporting operational excellence initiatives, innovation, and continuous improvement across all functional areas. This role requires a strong leader with deep finance operations expertise, a passion for people development, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide strong, visible leadership and day-to-day oversight for all functional teams within the Manila CoE, including Accounts Payable, Procurement Operations, Credit and Collections, General Ledger, Supplier Operations, Statutory Reporting, and Payroll.
- Cultivate an inclusive, high-performance culture that encourages collaboration, growth, and continuous learning.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team leads and individual contributors, fostering their professional development and career progression.
- Be the primary on-site point of contact for employee relations, engagement, and well-being within the CoE.
- Act as the representative voice for the Manila CoE teams, ensuring their perspectives and needs are understood and addressed by global stakeholders.
Operational Delivery & Excellence
- Ensure the Manila CoE consistently delivers on operational priorities and service level agreements (SLAs) established by global functional leaders.
- Support operational excellence initiatives, identifying opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and automation across all finance operations functions.
- Advise functional leaders on best practices and opportunities to leverage technology that may enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control within the CoE.
- Champion a culture of innovation, encouraging teams to explore new ideas and solutions to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on performance to global (functional) stakeholders.
Strategic Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with global functional leaders, ensuring strong alignment between CoE operations and overall finance strategy.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on CoE performance, initiatives, and challenges.
- Partner with IT and other support functions to ensure the CoE has the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
- Contribute to the global finance operations leadership team, providing insights and recommendations from the CoE perspective.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance operations, with at least 10 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple functional teams
- Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) and a proven track record of driving process improvements and automation
- Strong understanding of key finance operations processes including Accounts Payable, Procurement Operations, Credit and Collections, General Ledger, Supplier Operations, Statutory Reporting, and Payroll
- Exceptional people leadership skills with a proven ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing, diverse teams in a global context
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience working with shared service centers or Centers of Excellence is highly desirable
