About This Role

You will lead a team of talented Content Designers who craft the language and experiences that power our global commerce flows—including acquisition, retention, plans, payments, pricing, enterprise platforms, identity, and account management. You will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for Commerce Content Design, partnering closely with senior leadership across Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing to shape the future of how millions of people interact with Netflix. You’ll champion well-crafted, data-driven product copy and designs that make people feel excited to join Netflix, confident about staying, clear about their choices, and compelled to experience the best our service has to offer. You’ll also help set a vision for—and champion—the future of Commerce XD at Netflix.

About You

You are a seasoned leader in Content Design and User Experience with a passion for shaping meaningful, high-impact user experiences at scale. You thrive in ambiguity, think strategically, and have a strong track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams. You are a skilled storyteller and influencer, able to advocate for the value of content design at the highest levels of the organization. You combine empathy for users with sharp business acumen, and you are energized by complex challenges that require cross-functional collaboration and visionary leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Set Vision & Strategy: Partner with senior leaders to establish and communicate a bold, clear vision for Commerce experiences at Netflix, aligned with Netflix’s business goals and our commitment to member-centric experiences.

  • Lead & Inspire: Build, mentor, and empower a diverse team of high-performing Content Designers. Foster a culture of inclusion, candor, and continuous feedback—where everyone is encouraged to share ideas and challenge the status quo.

  • Champion Excellence: Set a high bar for quality, responsibility, and execution. Measure success by business results, team growth, and engagement.

  • Drive Innovation: Demonstrated experience creating a culture of innovation - bringing new ideas forward, and using data and insights to inform, persuade, and align partners. Actively explore and champion the strategic adoption of AI to unlock new workflows and amplify Content Design’s impact.

  • Collaborate & Influence: Work cross-functionally with senior leaders and teams across Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing. Continue to champion and advocate for the unique value of content design, define what success looks like and help shape product decisions that deliver real impact for members.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in UX content design, UX writing, including 7+ years leading and managing teams

  • 5+ years partnering with executive leaders

  • Proven experience setting vision and strategy for content design at scale, ideally in a commerce, subscription, or consumer technology environment

  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building, mentoring, inspiring high-performing teams and leading through change

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Strong portfolio showcasing impactful work in UX writing/content design for complex digital products or services, including examples of leveraging AI to innovate and scale content solutions

  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, with experience using data and research to inform content decisions

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is a plus

This role can be hybrid but would be best for candidates located in California or in the Pacific time zone, as monthly in-person travel will be required to collaborate with stakeholders and partners in Los Angeles, CA or Los Gatos, CA or New York, NY.

Pay Transparency

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $430,000 - $1,500,000

We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
