Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Role

Netflix is still relatively new to Consumer Experiences (“CPX”) and this role provides you the chance to join a team that is committed to transforming the perception of what entertainment is and how it can be enjoyed both through the Netflix service and by bringing brand love to life via consumer experiences. It's a great time to join our team as we build out workflows and systems to account for our CPX business from the ground up and we continue to look for the best and brightest talent to scale with our growth opportunity. With continued investment in live experiences to allow for deeper interaction and love for our content, it's a great time for you to join Netflix. The individual will report to the Manager, Operations Accounting, and will ideally be based out of our Los Angeles, CA office.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the accounting for the financial integrity of the company's CPX operating expenses, assets (i.e. prepaids), and liabilities (i.e. accruals) by meeting with stakeholders, providing accounting guidance, and implementing accounting policies.

  • Review and prepare documentation of CPX agreements, including interpreting contractual terms and understanding how our accounting policies apply.

  • Perform monthly close tasks (such as opex accruals, flux analysis, and reconciliations).

  • Proactively identify issues, drive continuous improvement, and optimize and automate processes/systems.

  • Establish analytics and processes for this new and growing area of the business.

  • Work closely with various teams throughout the company, including Legal, Procurement, Finance, Licensing, Tax, and Engineering, to solve complex problems.

  • Assist with consolidated and statutory audit inquiries.

Qualities we're looking for:

  • Fundamentals of Accounting - We'd like you to have 6+ years of relevant accounting experience backed by a bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance; a CPA/CA license is preferred.

  • Curiosity and passion - Our team members ask probing questions, challenge the status quo, enjoy tackling complex unique business cases and transactions, and have fun while doing it all! Prior work with contract review, data entry and analysis, research, and other problem-solving tasks is helpful

  • Innovation mindset - Enthusiasm for designing and building new accounting systems and making innovations to existing systems and processes. A positive attitude and never settling for “good enough” are key, along with fitting into our unique company culture.

  • Adaptability - You have to be comfortable in an ever-changing eco-system of experiences, finance and accounting issues and projects.

  • Attention to detail + love for data - We pride ourselves on producing high quality work, scrutinizing important numbers and formulas for accuracy, and using spreadsheets and system data to reconcile accounts and solve problems; we like our accountants to love Excel pivot tables and be unphased by large data sets.

Bonus experience - not required but a plus!

  • Industry experience in consumer experiences is a plus but not essential if you are enthusiastic about the position, have a strong accounting background, and are capable of learning quickly.

  • Experience with Workday Financials.
