Our Talent Management team specifically plays a key role in this effort, and we are hiring a talent management professional to support our employees across the US & Canada.
As a Manager Talent Management & Learning, you will work in close collaboration and partnership with a variety of internal partners to support and drive the execution of the Global Talent Management strategy and all things learning, growth, and development. This is a full-time, individual contributor position based in Los Angeles, CA, Los Gatos, CA, or New York, NY, and reports to the Director, Talent Management UCAN.
Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
Strategy and Partnership
- Collaborate with central and regional HR teams to advise on Talent Management Strategies, considering regional and functional nuances.
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to leadership and our HR Business Partners & Talent Partners
- Design, drive, and implement programs that will address business needs and support Netflix’s unique culture.
- Develop and support leadership development initiatives that enable managers to cultivate high-performing teams
- Facilitate learning multiple delivery mediums, including in-person training with large audiences, virtual training, digital learning, and innovative strategies as well as creating ways to assess impact and success.
- Possess a strong "stage presence" and solid command of audiences large and small. Comfortable facilitating discussions on ambiguous or challenging topics. Can unify and focus a room to gain buy-in and consensus on highly contentious subjects while keeping participants engaged and supported.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of Talent Management and learning programs, ensuring alignment with business needs.
Learning Practitioner
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, understanding the business goals and strategies of the function/region which enables impact
- Define key capabilities with HRBPs that fuel the company’s creativity and growth
- Develop growth & development solutions that address business needs in partnership with business leaders and HR Partners, as needed
- Perform needs assessments and analyses to identify and prioritize opportunities to identify and improve gaps in behavior-based, skill-based, and knowledge-based competencies across functions/regions.
- Establish clear expectations for the development and implementation of learning solutions with stakeholders and partners; whether internally or externally supported
- Where applicable, design, support and facilitate leader offsites and team effectiveness sessions for senior leadership.
Project/Program Management
- Responsible for programmatic planning, operation, and communication (e.g. regional onboarding)
- Collect and analyze feedback on targeted program components. Identify program efficiency and proactively identify program risks and opportunities
- Partner on the central Talent Management strategy via agile project management workflows and planning
- Maintain tracking of projects and key initiatives, working in close partnership with the broader Talent Management and other Talent GBP teams; familiar with Asana project management software
- Work with Talent Management Coordinators to manage program operations, activities, and contracting processes with learning vendors
- Manage tracking of project budget and all associated spending
- Where applicable, audit and approve vendor invoices
We are looking for someone who:
- Has deep learning expertise: Has 5-10 years of experience in Learning & Development, Learning Design, Human Resources, Leadership Development, Talent Management, Organizational Development and/or related field
- Is passionate about growing our culture, leaders, and employees: you are thoughtful about what will provide the biggest impact on our employees and focus on delivering exceptional program experiences
- Stays organized and has a high level of attention to detail and accuracy: you have strong project and program management skills, you manage your time well - you can balance multiple projects and multiple work streams simultaneously, and effectively prioritize, you can design scalable workflows that are effective and efficient
- Effectively collaborates: You are a selfless team player, you are open to and respectful of different working styles, you welcome diverse perspectives and are open to feedback, and you bring others along with you as you work on projects
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and navigates ambiguity well: you self-manage, take initiative, and work independently in an ever-evolving, fast-paced environment, you stay flexible and adapt quickly as situations change
- Thinks creatively and outside of the box: You are resourceful and can think of creative solutions for problems without easy and straightforward answers
- Holds a growth mindset: You’re someone who is curious and excited to learn and grow on our team
Preferred Experience
- You’ve supported and led scaling local, regional, and global initiatives
- You’ve planned large-scale programs or broader Talent efforts, specifically within the culture evolution or Talent Management, Learning & Organizational Development space
- You’ve led Agile and/or design thinking workflows and operating methods
- You are adept at the use of survey and assessment tools to identify business needs and measure the effectiveness of solutions
- You have exceptional group process and facilitation skills for all audiences, including executive leadership
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $170,000 - $420,000.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
